We have never experienced such wonderfully authentic Indian food before - the flavours were on a different level.

It is so far removed from the commercial, stodgy “Indian” food we remember back in the UK - this is so very different - a true flavour of the Punjab - made with love and served by kind hearts.

There was a very warm welcome at the door, a thoughtful explanation of all the dishes ( including the Punjabi origins, the ingredients/spices, the recommended combinations, the wines etc ) and excellent service throughout the meal - it really was quite memorable.

The starters of the Onion Bhaji and Gol Gappa Chaat were truly outstanding and set our expectations for the mains. We were not disappointed! The layers of flavour in the Honey Cauliflower and Butter Chicken were amazing - all washed down with a few glasses of chilled Alentejo wine.

“Very beautiful restaurant and very good food. We loved the starters and main dishes. The only negative point was the dessert, which was clearly not of the day. We were advised by an employee and unfortunately it was a hard cake that didn't fit in at all with the good experience we had had with the meal. We ordered the ceviche (OK but not the best of our lives), the cod croquettes which were delicious and to finish the Iberian pluma (good flavor but a little dry). For dessert: creme brulée, which was very good. In general a bit expensive compared to the rest of the restaurants in Óbidos.”
