Everything was perfect, the Narcissa cod was spectacular, the service was good, and the desserts were very good.

Reference place in Valenca where you can eat quality at a price that may be a little high compared to other places but it is worth it.
They have products on the menu where you can order 1/2 portion or a whole one. (It must be said that the portions are very generous):
We were three people, we ordered a salad and 1/2 of cod, dessert, drinks, etc. We made it clear to the waiter that we wanted 1/2 of cod since last year there were more people and a couple ordered 1/2 of cod and they were charged for a whole one. That's why we were very incisive with the waiter when ordering the 1/2 portion.
When we ask for the bill they bring a Tablet so we can see the content. Our surprise was when we saw that the cod came as a whole portion, €45 instead of half €29. We called the waiter who served us and since he did not understand or did not want to understand our explanations, he left, understanding that he would go find someone who understood or his manager.
A lady showed up with an arrogant attitude and when we explained the situation to her, she told us in a contemptuous tone: "we have served a full one and that is what we are going to charge, since there are three of you and there were two halfs for two and, if we had seen which was complete because we waited to eat it and complain when asking for the bill.
We tried to explain to him that we don't have to know that what they had brought was complete, that we made it clear to the waiter that we wanted a half. We even marked it with our finger on the letter.
The situation was getting heated by the moment and "Miss." bringing out all his bad manners from inside him, addressing us very contemptuously.
It was when I told him that we were not willing to pay for the entire ration in any way. She became even more insulting and in a very cocky tone, she eliminated the ration from the bill saying that we should not worry because they were going to pay for it between all her colleagues and her (with total irony).
Trying not to get on his level, I told him that there was no way I was going to agree not to pay for the half portion, which was what had been ordered.
At no time did he show a normal, conversational attitude, he did not want to solve it.
I think that in these cases we must give the client the benefit of the doubt and not treat us as if we were criminals.
We asked for the complaint form and I told him I was going to call the police. He calmed down and brought the bill for what we had ordered, but maintaining his borderline and cocky ways.
Of course he lacks a lot of education and should not be facing the public. It doesn't occur to us to return to this place because of this "Miss." And be careful about asking for 1/2 portions if you have more than one person.

07/25/24 . Restaurant rated 10. Very good food, we ate prego on the plate and grilled cod, everything was very tasty and of good quality. I haven't left a restaurant so satisfied in a while. The attendants were very polite and kind, congratulations!!!

Excellent grilled and baked cod, with impressive portions. They serve half portions, which seem like whole ones, as is usual in Portugal. Recommended yes, or yes.

Incredible. We loved the fortress cod, delicious. We also ordered some garlic prawns and a Galician-style octopus, which were also very good. Without a doubt a place to recommend if you stop in Valença.
