Good option for breakfast and buying cream cakes in Valença. They have a wide variety of pastries, including bread. The service is very attentive and fast.

They don't have the best coffee in the area by any means, but the pastries are very varied and the place is huge, also having a covered terrace.

Joana Takes A Walk

When: May 2024
How much: €21.15 (4 people: 2 éclairs, 3 coffees, 3 breads with butter, 1 rock - a mixture of Berlin ball and God's bread -, 1 toast, 3 orange juices and 1 gallon)

We stopped at Things Sweets on the way to Pontevedra and really enjoyed it.
Efficient service with a huge variety of products and all super yummy!
Great place for breakfast, which fills up very quickly.

I visited this cafe 11th June 2023, after arriving from Porto. It opens early, has great pastries and coffee, the staff were friendly even to this peregrino with minimal Portuguese. If I lived in Valença I’d be here every day!

Whenever we went to Portugal we used to have a drink in this cafe, something that will never happen again after the treatment received today. I admit that the product is very good but the treatment is disastrous, after taking notes of the drinks without even looking at your face, after half an hour they tell us that we have to leave and that they are going to pick up tray in hand and remove everything from the table, then we had to pay (loudly in front of all the people when we had already paid). This behavior even surprised the table next to us. It seems perfect to me that they have to pick up, but I consider that when working in front of the public, certain forms must be maintained. The waiter who served us has gray hair. I'm sorry but I won't be back. Not everything goes.

We are right now having breakfast at this place, and the truth is that the treatment by the waiter is a SHAME. Bad attitude, despotism, angry face... I have cleaned the table, 20 minutes for them to wait, he tells me to come in to order an empanada, and then he tells his companion that it is an outside table, that he doesn't know what I'm doing inside . A lot of lack of control, total lack of waiter-bar coordination.
A shame!!! The food was very delicious, and the drink was good, but everything else was forgettable. It is better to order and pay at the counter, otherwise it is an odyssey. 0 recommended and, of course, NOT to return or recommend to anyone!!!
