Please don't order the spaghetti, it comes totally overcooked. As is unfortunately so often the case in the Azores, the tuna was overcooked and dry. The salad was a decent portion, but we didn't get any salt or vinegar. Oil is environmentally unfriendly and packed in small plastic bags, which weren't enough. Something like that should be forbidden anyway.
It was just an opportunity to eat there as we had to wait for the ferry with luggage. Wouldn't come back.
The service was nice but was overwhelmed when the restaurant filled up. Luckily we were the first guests, but the main course still took a while.
The vegetable soup of the day was also very simple in taste.
However, hunger after a long hike drove everything in ;D...
But the beer was tasty and cold!

We have been ignored from service completely, the food is rather cold and unappetizing.

The attitude of the owner of this restaurant is regrettable, as she broke the rule of trust by deliberately charging an exorbitant price for 3 portions of a standard fish (fish see) with a side dish of peach slices and canned pineapple. He charged 144 euros for 3 fish!!!
The total for the meal was 199 euros.
The menu was suggested by the owner and therefore was not on the menu.
We couldn't go back to the restaurant and so we canceled dinner the next day, which was also planned for this restaurant.
This type of speculative attitude does not help to recover the tourism that this beautiful island deserves.
So that other “customers” do not fall into this error, here is a warning of this occurrence.

My favorite restaurant at the harbor in the capital Velas on Sao Jorge. Maximum feel-good factor!

Bad food, steak looked like it was spoiled, reheated food, fish with a strong smell, a place you'll never go back to, the only thing that saves it is the service, otherwise I don't recommend

We had a buffet dinner for only €13 with satisfaction, excellent coffee served with local dessert. We are sorry not to have been able to try the extensive à la carte menu.

Restaurantji Recommends
If there really is a chef in the kitchen here, he got the degree out of pity. French fries half raw, rice soggy, Sao Jorge cheese not available or only available after looking. Cannelloni with ham and cheese in tomato sauce was spaghetti with ham and cheese on top and canned tomatoes mixed in with the spaghetti. Definitely never again even if the waitress was very nice true. Definitely NOT a recommendation

Best service, poorly prepared meal, not corresponding to what is on the menu, horrible pre-fried potatoes. I do not advise your frequency.

In terms of price/quality ratio the worst restaurant I have been to in Portugal/Azores, maybe ever.Every single menu item looked frozen/non-fresh, and all dishes were lukewarm at best. The dishes were tasteless and dry, and apparently you have to ask for sauces yourself even though they are part of the dish on the menu.I honestly think I can cook every single dish that we had better than how it got served to us. In one word: Terrible.

Recommended by the travel guide, unfortunately we were very disappointed. The service seemed overwhelmed, it took 15 minutes for a waiter to come and another 15 for the drinks to come, the starter we had ordered was not delivered at all. The food was described as very exciting and exotic on the menu, but unfortunately the reality was different. The tuna was very dry, the beef quite tough in places. Both potatoes and fries clearly lacked salt or other spices. The noodles were very soft and the sauce that went with them was tasteless. As compensation we were offered a free dessert which tasted acceptable.
