It may not look much from the street but the upstairs restaurant was lovely and full of locals which is usually a good sign. Staff were very attentive and food was absolutely delicious. We ate the monkfish rice to share for mains and it was outstanding. Would strongly recommend a visit. If we were staying here longer we’d definitely come back again!“

“Originally we went to Brasão Aliados, but we didn't have a reservation and it was full. However Brasão arranged for us to have a driver, Sérgio, to transport us to Brasão Antas. Sérgio was amazing, very friendly and attentive. We got a spot on the second-floor terrace, which was nice for a summer evening. We all had Francesinha which is a classic of Brasão, and I highly recommend. After our meal, Sérgio was ready to take us back to Aliados.

“As for this restaurant, the building itself is a monument. It has such a nice interior in a perfect location right by the sea. You can see the outside through the large window, but I couldn't see outside because I had dinner. There are 22 course menus, of which we ordered 7 courses. All the dishes were perfect, but the prawns and cod were especially good. Our expectations for a Michelin two-star restaurant were very high, but this restaurant perfectly met them. The grilled octopus is delicious. A little disappointed by the slightly dry cod and the "burger" which is more of a horse steak (chopped steak with fried egg).

Very good white Kiwi / Passion fruit sangria.

Dessert not up to par. The cheesecake doesn't have one ?. The creamy lemon was more like a cheesecake ?.

The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, the food was delicious (we had the fresh sea bream with potatoes), our wine was very good and the atmosphere was really nice. The price-performance ratio is also very fair. If we had been in Porto longer, we would have liked to come back.

“We were highly recommended by a local colleague to have our lunch here. The restaurant, located near the seaside of Porto, boasts beautifully decorated interiors and exteriors. I enjoyed the fresh seafood, especially the catch of the day from the ocean. We shared a large grilled seabass, commonly caught in these waters, and it was delicious and fresh, simply grilled to perfection. I also loved the clams, which were incredibly fresh and cooked simply with olive oil, making them so flavorful and tasty, full of umami. “Having lived in culinary hot spots like NY, SF, and LA...I tend to be a bit unforgiving with service and food. Without question, both here were next level for us tonight. Our first night in Porto not entirely rested, we wandered into this place and were immediately made to feel at home.

Tomás has created an incredible place to relax and experience all of the must try local dishes. It is an unassuming, come as you are, out of the way spot with high quality food and high quality service.

For food, we committed to a couple of obvious items, but were not quite sure on others, the recommendations made completely elevated the experience (chorizo - fired up at the table - unexpected in presentation and delicious, a white wine that wasn't on our radar at all - fresh, vibrant, also delicious - as examples.)

We were full, happy, and ready to wrap everything up when our server politely asked if we needed any coffee or dessert, which we had already discussed as a couple and decided we were at max capacity. But when service is on point and leveled in the right way, we appreciate that and enjoy drawing out the experience. Her suggestion of the mousse - no surprise, was easily one of the best chocolate mousses we have ever had (espresso was great, too).

We could have stayed and chatted with the people here for hours because in addition to all of this, they kept the conversation going as if you were family coming back for a reunion.

Made for a fantastic night out in Porto.

“One of the best seafood dinners, ever.

Dear local friends recommended Majára. What a gem. Ambience is classy, a place to have a nice family dinner, a date or a fabulous time with friends who appreciate excellent food. No dress code detected, but do your best to make it a special time. This is a nice restaurant that takes care of every detail!

Greeter, waiter were very friendly. Augustin, our waiter, was funny, energetic, very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. His recommendations were spot on. Timing and rhythm of service was perfect, and no interruptions to our family chat.

On to the food. We eat excellent seafood regularly. Majára is among the top. Jumbo grilled shrimp was very tasty, added butter made an explosive party of taste in my mouth. The seafood platter was very generous, with plenty of shrimp, crab, prawns, persebe (barnacle) that were juicy, expertly prepared, tasty and incredibly fresh. Our waiter made an excellent pairing with local Vino Verdhe and showed us the fresh jumbo camarao. Salmon plate was also very tasty and a great option for those in your party that prefer fish over mariscos. Bread was freshly baked and buttery.

Creme Brule toped the night, but the star of the show was the incredible seafood platter.

I recommend the octopus à mother, octopus legs or the various steaks.However, it is not the ideal place for large groups, as the space has around 20/30 seats and days with many orders together can be complicated.“
