Excellent food, every single dish we ordered was absolutely incredible. The restaurant was recommended by a waiter in Lagos and he was spot on to say the best cataplana in the Algarve. Beutiful traditional Portuguese style decor and cosy. Highly recommend

I don't recommend. Extremely unpleasant owner. I had never experienced anything like it.

Food is okay, but owner is not welcoming at all. Do not recommend because of the service!

1) Owner complained about our delay in a rude way (15min) even though the restaurant was completely empty.

2) We brought our baby (2 months old) and my wife went to feed in a separate dining room which was empty and dark - owner said in a rude way once again “this is a public place not your home” and in the end said “babies are not welcome” and complained we didn’t warn them about the baby during the reservation even though we did (we warned her husband that picked up the phone)

I recommend you go to a much better place next doors called “Ribeira do Poço”

DO NOT GO WITH CHILDREN
Bad face if you go with children. They ask us the age of the child and we tell them 2 years old. Next question: does he scream or does he know how to behave?
???
Better not to enter...

So where to start?
Very very good food
Very nice restaurant
Very very long service
And a bit expensive addition.
I give 5 stars because I think that once we will resolve the slowness of the service (more dynamic)
It will be a top restaurant

I've never reviewed any restaurant before but I can't remain silent about what's going on in this place. I waited an hour for cod à Brás, which was almost inedible because it was so salty. I honestly thought they had gone fishing for the animal. I have never had such a bad or slow service. When they present me with the bill of 25 euros, which honestly, as the food was not even half as high, they should have charged me, I notice that they charged me 2 and a half euros for a glass of juice. Not a bottle or a can, a glass! They stopped me 30 seconds after I placed my order to see if I drank and asked for more while I was there waiting for the cod.
They only fooled me this one time, even if they pay me I'll go back there.
An experience not to be repeated.

A fantastic restaurant. We were here 5 years ago and are once again impressed by the high quality and the great traditional ambience. We recommend the wild boar dish. Hope to see you again soon!

More appearance than reality.
The restaurant is completely overrated. It's a shame, because it makes a good impression and advertises slow food. It's nicely decorated and yes, unfortunately that's it. The price-performance ratio is not right. The quality of the food is rather average, far too expensive and above all not slow food. The service is very friendly, but not competent. With an upscale wine list you should be able to say something about the wines. Unfortunately none. The lady could neither make a recommendation nor know where to locate the Dão growing region. Dão is one of the highest-quality and oldest wine-growing regions on the Iberian Peninsula. Gifted. My wife ordered a rocket salad with shaved parmesan as a starter. The portion was a joke, the cheese could only be found in homeopathic doses. The price of 7.50 euros was worth it. We complained and asked for improvements. The chef then told the wait staff that if we wanted more parmesan, we would have to pay extra. In Germany we would pay at least three times as much for it. We then let the food go back. The main course was fish cataplana for 2 people for 45 euros. The fish content was very manageable and not really good either. The tuna was tough and dry. What bothered us the most was the reaction of the chef (owner). He was so confident in himself and ignored any criticism. What's more, he wasn't at all interested in what his guests thought about it. He recommended that we go to a pizzeria soon. That is not how it works. Conclusion: We will never visit the restaurant again.

A wonderful Octopus Cataplana and the lamb shank in mint was a poem! The traditional homemade desserts are particularly delicious! A must for lovers of Algaveran cuisine! Plus delicious organic vinho from the region

Good food, typical and "homemade" made with good products.
Good desserts.
House wine at an unrealistically high price!
Normal service.
Prices a little high compared to the competition.
