Coasting on reputation or ‘off day’?
Dining out is usually a treat. We have had several meals at Romando with widely varying results. The dining room was about half full at 12:30. Reservation notes asked about dietary concerns. If you are gluten free please reconsider eating here. Their soy sauce replacement was a dark rice vinegar. I did not think to bring my own Tamari. The sashimi platter was festively decorated with cut succulents, shredded daikon and leaf tapers. The slices of fish were inconsistent in size, some should have been reserved for soup stock. Staff was harried during service but pleasant. Could not order sushi, “the rice has vinegar with gluten in it”. A new development since the last visit! Maybe a dinner would have been more successful.

Dietary restrictions: Sushi rice has gluten in it per the server and kitchen staff. Fried foods are dredged in a gluten based batter. No Tamari available.

Large and beautiful space with a very pleasant view of the marina. The staff is friendly and the service is provided in a reasonable time. We ordered starters and the premium sushi mix for 3 people and then desserts with all high quality dishes. Wine and coffee. Average price per person is around 60 euros

The food is incredible. The sushi is always very good and the rest of the options too. The chocolate fondant is incredible, the best I've ever had!
Furthermore, the service and ambience are very good. Super friendly and attentive staff.

The price is very high, but the quality is very low. I can find better quality sushi in a grocery store. I was extremely disappointed. The service was less than the quality of the food. The staff was not courteous. For being my most expensive meal in 3 weeks of Portugal, I would imagine it was being the most memorable. It will be memorable for all the wrong reasons. It was the most expensive and the worst in quality. The staff does not provide equal service to customers.

The sushi was satisfactory, but there was less variety compared to previous times. There are fewer pieces, less variety and the price no longer makes sense for the type of sushi they offer.

I confess that expectations were not high (as a result of other places), however I was pleasantly surprised. The Sushi was very good, it is a pleasant and well presented place. The staff explained everything in detail and was impeccable and sometimes it's in the small details that make the difference, as the employee realized it was a birthday celebration and at dessert he surprised us by placing the candle, I loved that attention and panache. I recommend!

Very pretty place, tastefully decorated even though the chairs aren't very comfortable, nor is the table leg blocking the place where we put our legs. The sushi is undoubtedly very good, good execution and very fresh fish with some variety. The service leaves a little to be desired. We ordered omakase and they told us it wasn't possible because it would mean the staff wasted too much time with our table - ok, but then it must be made explicit on the menu or it would be necessary to reserve with that specification. If not, it doesn't make sense for it to be on the menu. Otherwise, slow service, somewhat inattentive (we spent too long without anyone looking at the table and noticing that we wanted to call/order/etc). Overall, the price is too high for the overall experience but I believe I will still come back.

It's a scam to include a tip on the bill and say, "If you don't want it, you don't have to pay." You have already included them in the total bill and you are putting me in a stupid position. Of course, I will pay the bill in full with a fraudulent tip because I don't feel comfortable telling the person to their face, "No, I don't want to leave a tip." Your prices are very high and do not correspond to the service and selection. small portions and expensive. very expensive. There are also mandatory tips. you humiliate the waiter by forcing him to take this tip, and then me in front of the waiter. you have a bad business model. an example to others of how not to run a business. the design and atmosphere deserve a good rating, but the service and cuisine do not.

Many comments purchased!
Anyone who visited the space a few years ago knew that they were actually very good when it came to sushi. Now it's honestly not worth it! Prices completely out of line with what they present, without any creativity, smaller pieces, menu without optional menus, are only designed to make the customer pay more than what they deserve! I don't recommend it, sushi houses have already opened and surpass this one by far. To leave €146 for two people, the food really has to be worth it! Never again!

Completely overpriced and overated. A place that feeds on its unjustified fame. The sushi, despite being of good quality, is too expensive for what it offers to the customer. A very weak wine list and absolutely mediocre service for the price charged. I went for lunch, the restaurant was practically empty and they didn't bother to ask if we had a table preference. They sat us at a completely random table that was shaking from all sides. My father drank a gin and tonic with poor quality tonic water for the place in question. The employees have no training or knowledge of what is on the menu and were not careful to ask about preferences for pieces and ingredients in the combination that was requested. Only 3 types of saximi which, despite being fresh after a few minutes, were soaked in water as the ice on the board started to melt.
It left a lot to be desired, for the price I can say it was probably the worst experience I've had. Not to be repeated.

The Sushi is good, but when compared to other places in the same segment, it lacks that delicacy that gives it a premium touch.
