Very disappointing, the steak was very tough, I could not finish it. The fish was so dry and hard it tasted like it went from the freezer directly into the oven. Some dishes served at other tables looked good. Perhaps we chose the wrong dish, unfortunately both were not good.

Wonderful meal at a family restaurant! Luckily we arrived early as the tables filled up quickly and several parties were turned away.
The main server (the only non-family member), was extremely hard-working and helpful and explained every dish we asked about to us in English.
After seeing other reviews of the grilled squid rings, we started with them. Delicious! Extremely tender and a tasty, light sauce.
For our entrees, we had the fried cod as well as the regional beef. We had just ordered similiar dishes at a "fancier" restaurant on Sao Miguel both these were both way better!
The beef was cooked perfectly and was so tender, bordering on a veal-like cut. We couldnt stop eating it even way after becoming full.
The cod was very lightly fried. It was quite good but the potatoes and veggies that came with it were surprisingly just as good as the sauce underneath it was delicious, adding to the entire dish.
The computer system went out the night we dined but the staff worked very hard and made everything work. The slightly extra wait was certainly worth it. We only stayed two nights on the island but it was incredibly tempting not to come back a second night as we wanted to try a second restaurant.

This restaurant was our favorite in the Azores so far! We had the squid appetizer, which was the best squid we have ever had with the most delicious sauce. Then we each got cod, one lightly fried with Vilão sauce and one baked with an oil and lemon(?) sauce. They were both so delicious!! The server was so nice and spoke perfect English. There is easy street parking out front. It’s a casual, homey place. Highly recommended!
We regularly eat at this friendly family-run restaurant. Really nice food, including a prato do dia (dish of the day) and peixe do dia. Today we had grilled veja, a real treat.
