Our dinner here was amazing!Everything was really good and with a high level quality. There’s so much so to say.Starting by the staff, when you reach the restaurant Leonardo will introduce you the space (with a charming decoration and view to the Douro river) , explaining about Porto city history and what’s behind the concept. Then you have Cristiana who will show you the menu, giving her recommendations according with your tastes. And finally tou have Leonardo again helping you to choose the wine according with the food. They really know what they are doing.Then, when the food comes to the table, and you have your first bite, god!! It was like if you were in heaven!As starters we had focaccia, tartar, croquettes and carpaccio. And as main dish we choose t bone and another type that I can’t recall the name. The meat flavour and texture was perfect. Really really good.Previously, on other reviews I gave 10 to other restaurants, but after this experience I would give more than 10 to this one, or I needed to change the previous ones. This was another level. Of course the price is also different, but is fair for all the quality you have, not only the food but also the service.I couldn’t recommend more this place. For sure the best place to eat meat in the town with the best view and staff!

More than a meal, it's an experience. The environment, decoration and look are unique. Probably one of the best decorated and beautiful restaurants in Porto. The view over the Douro and the city at night is magical. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the products and wines and of impeccable competence. Always willing to help and at the right time. The detail of being dressed in clothing from the 1828 era makes the entire experience unique. I liked the fact that they took the time to talk to customers for a few minutes about the history of 1828 and WOW. As this is a haute cuisine restaurant, it delivered on its promises. We started with artisanal bread, butter, virgin olive oil, olive tapenade (Couvert) and for starters the salad and chévre. Everything delicious. The olive tapenade was fantastic and the Chévre in the salad was perfect, not too salty and not strong. For the main dish we opted for the Tomahawk with a weight of 1.2 KG which was good for 3 people. With side dishes: Broken Eggs, Sausage Rice and Greens Migas. The aged beef Tomahawk (we ordered rare/medium) was perfect, very soft and tender. It appears that the selection and cuts presented are highly selected as indicated by the staff. The side dishes also did not disappoint and were perfect. The preference was for the Migas and the Sausage Rice (both with an indescribable aroma and flavor…you just have to try them!). From Gateaux desserts, Esfera 1828 (signature dessert) and Créme Brullé. In desserts, 1828 also shines. The Créme Brullé, although it looks simple, melted in the mouth with the flavor of Madagascar vanilla. Any of these desserts are good choices. The wine list is varied and very complete and you can find a selection of wines for all tastes, as you would expect from a WOW (World of Wine) restaurant. Highly recommended and I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a unique experience and is a meat and steakhouse lover

Beautiful restaurant with a fantastic location in Vila Nova de Gaia (Porto) and privileged views over the Douro River. With a French atmosphere and theme, its specialty is josper meats, some cuts from the famous “el capriccio”, in Jimenez de Jamuz, León (Spain).
We have opted for a steak tartare as a starter and a Tomahawk of about 1,250 grams, to top it off with lemon pie and a glass of Port.
The service has been exquisite from all the staff since arrival, although we would like to highlight Pedro, a great professional, for his kindness and quality of service!
