A night with a very pleasant temperature, no better place to take a walk than the Gaia pier. There were a lot of people on the street, despite it being quite early, it is a must-visit place. It has beautiful restaurants for all tastes, stalls selling handicrafts, sweet cakes, not forgetting the Port wine cellars, which delight especially foreigners.
It's great to take this walk whenever possible.

The riverside promenade of Cais de Gaia is a picturesque stretch along the waterfront of Vila Nova de Gaia, offering stunning panoramic views of Porto's skyline across the Douro River. It's an ideal spot for capturing postcard-worthy photos of the city.

The promenade is lined with historic Rabelo boats, offering visitors a chance to see these traditional vessels up close. Some boats are open for tours, providing insights into their history and their role in the port wine trade.

Along Cais de Gaia, you can find several renowned wine cellars where you can learn about the production of port wine and enjoy tastings. Many of these cellars offer guided tours and tastings with panoramic views of Porto.

Enjoyed this side of the river more than the other side during our evening walk. A bit more relaxed and authentic then the opposite side

Next to the river, a very pleasant space with cafes, restaurants and terraces, which allow you to enjoy the beauty that the Douro carries, as well as allowing you to take a peek at Porto, just ahead.Romantic place, good to spend some time enjoying a coffee or a drink, or a good meal.Restaurants? There is no shortage of choice.

This Promenade is really full with visitors (us being part of it of course). But it is a very nice place to be and to walk. So no wonder it's popular. Nice city views across the river Douro, great views of the impressive Ponte Dom Luís I.Countless restaurants (Taberninha do Manel is really good) and even more Porto tasting rooms straight from the producers. Some big names here, but also smaller producers, which if fun: Discovering new producers you've never heard of. We certainly did and brought a whole bunch of bottles from several brands/producers home.Even though very busy, the atmosphere is a peaceful one here. People are having a good time. And there's a always a spot to take in the views and to take a pic or two. Take the Gaia cable car if you feel like. But be prepared for a long line.We had a great time here. Picture-perfect sunny day with blue skies. A great lunch and an even greater Port tasting - ending up in a Port-shopping spree. Good times.
