Near our accommodation, you could walk past it and not notice. Popular with the locals, always a good sign. Great waiter, spoke excellent English to explain the menu. We had 1/2 mixed grill of chicken, pork ribs, steak etc with chips, rice, salad, beans. Olives and bread, housewine. Chocolate mousse and Pudim Frances ? with coffee to end came to just under 50 euros. Very pleased.
I got squid and prawns. It came with a salad and fries. The fries are sooo good. They are really skinny and seasoned perfectly. The prawns were good, the squid was tender. The caldo verde was also very good. My server was really friendly and though I was trying to use as much Portuguese as possible he spoke English really well. Also the Oreo cheesecake was legit.
Humble place, very tight prices, very good service, extraordinary food. Abundant and tasty. In Galicia I have never seen plaice in a restaurant, here it was the dish of the day. Keep learning, it's not just super expensive fish, it's also fish for the people. (This is for Galician restaurants). If you come to Gaia, stop by here.
