We knew what we wanted and that was bifana. We googled a place near us and this came up. Did not disappoint. 2 beers and 2 bifanas for €8. Best food I've eaten since getting to

First bifana found in Portugal, it was very good, tasty meat, fresh bread, a delight! It's worth the detour.

Looked on Google for a nearby breakfast spot and found this lovely little café about 200 metres up the hill. Only seats about 16 so lucky to get one of the 4 tables. Divine pastel de nata plus a good toastie, coffee and beer. All excellent. Amazing how such a small space offers so much choice. Boothroyd and Jorvic chose well for breakfast. A proper locals spot with great value. 11.70€ for 2 ..beers, coffees, toasties and natas.

Wheelchair accessibility: Great. Bring your own chair. Small steps down. Toilets not accessible.

The most delicious Porto-style bifanas ? we have had. A nice quiet and affordable spot (off the touristic path) to re-energize during our exploration of the area. The owners were very friendly and despite our poor Portuguese , we managed to get along quite well.

(Translated by Google) We had breakfast one day because the cakes looked good, we went back the next day and I will repeat if we return to Gaia, an authentic local bar, out of tourist guides, recommended.(Original)Desayunamos un día porque los pasteles tenían buena pinta, volvimos al día siguiente y repetiré si volvemos a Gaia, bar auténtico local, fuera de guías turísticas, recomendable.

A lovely little 'hole in the wall'. We don't speak much Portuguese but the owners were so friendly and helpful. A great spot for a quick coffee stop (or a few evening beers!). Will be coming back :)
