It's worth getting off the tourist streets to soak up the true flavors of Portugal and for a more than reasonable price...it's everything we love, the simplicity and kindness of the staff.

Spectacular all the food and desserts
Be prepared to draw on a napkin and they will put it on the wall.
I have been to Gaia for 3 years, all three times I have had to repeat and I will repeat
Don't hesitate to visit it

This restaurant is a huge tourist trap that disgraces the culture and food of Portugal. Never in a million years will I come here again. The fransinha was made with the cheapest ingredients and tasted like a really bad grilled cheese sandwich and the stew was completely flavorless. DO NOT COME HERE!

The food was too expensive for its quality. The francesinha was an insult to the dish itself. Please avoid this tourist trap, I cannot understand where all these good reviews come from.

Very good place to go for lunch with quality country dishes. It is on a street perpendicular to the river, away from the bustle of the people. It's small and familiar. Not suitable for large groups. The service is attentive, efficient and pleasant. We ate an excellent goat dish and before that some simple but very good starters (I recommend the typical cod croquettes) and for dessert also delicious local products although quite strong. All this washed down with a good Douro wine.

We stumbled across this place on a public holiday when lots of other eateries were closed. It appeared to be full of locals and with a really authentically Porto menu. If you're looking for fine dining, this isn't it, but for authenticity and Porto-focused menu it's 5*. We had the francesinha here and I wish we could have stayed for more

Nice food, wine and service.
Starters are all nice.
Some main dishes are a bit too salty, but the freshness is absolutely great.
I found a good tapas shop after checking Google reviews.
The appetizers were very good. One or two main courses were a bit too salty, but the seafood was basically fresh.

I’m not one to leave bad reviews, but I had to because we got REALLY bad food poisoning from the sardines. We didn’t eat anything else that day so it had to be that. Also, first thing after sitting down, the waiter brought some starters we didn’t order and tried to place them on our table even though we were clearly confused. When asked whether it was included he said it was ‘optional’ and only took them away once we made it clear we didn’t want them (we felt he was trying to charge us for extra stuff,). Other than that, the flavours were good and the staff were friendly, it’s a shame we had to leave this review.
