Mediocre restaurant, tourist trap!
Please look carefully at the prices which are not the same between the Portuguese card and the English card!
The longest service I have ever experienced, 10 of us (3 children) came.
We ordered 5 franshecinas, 1 humberger veggie ((served with chicken instead of steak (we don't have the same definition of the word veggie)), 2 normal humbergers and 1 hot dog.

The 3 humbergers arrived 2 hours after ordering the dishes, 2h30 later, 3 franshecinas arrived, after another 30 minutes we decided to leave without having eaten the other dishes, no commercial gesture was made despite our dissatisfaction.

Please note that there was no one else there when we ordered but that the people who ordered after us were served before!

In short, we were just stupid to wait so long and regret not having had a basketball restaurant!

We went there as a family in August. We were well received but once the orders were taken, everything went downhill... Two hamburgers were delivered after more than forty minutes of waiting, then four other dishes were delivered 25 minutes later, including two cold dishes with missing fries. . Very average quality of dishes. Then after another 25 minutes of waiting, we were still not served the last dishes. We decided to leave. We paid for what was consumed without any discount despite the two hour wait. In addition, you have to be very patient when billing because there are price differences between Portuguese and English menus for the same dishes. I strongly advise against it. Instead, go a few meters nearby, to the market halls, you will be better served.

The location (Beira do Douro in Gaia) and the reception service is exceptional. In my family's opinion, the food left something to be desired in terms of flavor and quality. The table service had some flaws including one dish that was ordered did not come and after the delay and when questioning the waiter he said "ahh I was going to say that we ran out of salmon", but he didn't say so, only after being asked.

We, as well as our dog, were very well received on the terrace and the waitress directly offered us water for the little one. It was nice after our morning experience of being rejected everywhere because we have a border collie and not a portable dog weighing less than 8kg...

Terrible service... They don't accommodate half a dozen tables. They take a long time. I don't advise it to anyone. Experience not to be repeated. I'll never set foot here again

Experience not to be repeated. We were 7 friends having dinner and when we got to dessert we were offered a dessert board (tabua do carago) and we accepted. What was our surprise when they charged us €70 for half a dozen desserts. We had already paid when we realized the situation and questioned the amount. We asked to see the price of the board on the list and it was nowhere to be seen. The manager then added up the value of the desserts that made up the board and came to €46. We asked for a refund of the rest of the amount and it was denied despite them claiming it was a mistake on their part. However, many things were said by the employees, even in a threatening tone. They tried to "buy" us with a sangria or champagne but we didn't agree. We called the police (while they told us that the police were known to them and that it would take hours for them to arrive and it wouldn't do any good). We wrote it down in the complaints book (they even refused to lend us a pen). This turned out to be not a question of money but rather of attitude. I definitely don't recommend it to anyone!

I don't recommend it...At a dinner with friends, a dessert board was suggested and in the value of the invoice we paid we found that we were charged the simple amount of 70 EUR...we questioned it with the management...which, counting item by item, was nothing close of this cost..not even this dessert "tábua do carago" was on their menu...We were refused a refund and when we requested the complaints book, we were even denied a pen...That's why when requesting this dessert comes with a big bill that might go unnoticed by tourists but for the Tugas it's definitely a addition to our meager salary ?

Just look at the fireworks of São João to save this place. Terrible food, cold, we had to ask for it to be heated, poorly prepared and low quality food. We went in a large group and paid an absurd amount for the NOTHING we received. It would have been better to have paid to sit down and carry my snack in my bag! Even though we paid a lot, they didn't allow us to use the bathroom.... Terrible in everything.

The price of the caipirinha was €7.5 on the menu and when we saw the bill it was already €10. After making a complaint, the employee was not available to make changes to the price. Super rude and slow service

One of the worst experiences of my life! I was there on Saint John's Eve with my family, everyone was a bit confused, the service was terrible, things took a long time to bring things to the table and we were the ones who had to distribute the things. They had sardines and ribs menus with 2 sardines for each person, we ordered two ribs menus and ended up eating a terrible midday veal because in the meantime they ran out of ribs, the worst of all this was the price they charged us, these days it's already You know it's always a little more, but in this case it was completely absurd. Experience NEVER to be repeated!
