Aqui Há Gato - Vila Praia de Âncora

The name of the restaurant is quite revealing: "Aqui Há Gato". We ordered monkfish rice, but received hake rice. It really was a case of "selling a pig in a poke." We were disappointed. The service was reasonable and friendly, and the location is perfect.

The waiting time from ordering to the moment the food is placed on the table is exaggerated... More than an hour and a half waiting. .
I wanted to leave because the restaurant didn't justify the waiting time, as it was a small place and wasn't even crowded. However, out of politeness we stayed.
Regarding the food, after a long wait, it was a total disappointment. It was soaked in salt, the potatoes were reheated (fries), the meat, which is supposed to be tender and juicy, was extremely dry and hard because it was very, very overcooked.
The amount of food for three servings was insufficient and no one at the table is a person who eats a lot.
They put a bell on the table to call the waiter but even that is unnecessary because from what I read from the comments out of curiosity, the average waiting time in this restaurant between the moment you order and the food arriving at the table is 1h30/2h.

Based on the general comments I saw and the general rating the restaurant has (3.3), I don't think there will be much more to add.
If we combine the answers given by management, it can be seen that there is still a long way to go... In education, and knowing how to receive less good criticism in order to know how to evolve and improve the service provided.
When the rating is low and the complaints are common to customers and they have no connection other than having tried the same place, the problem is not with the customer but with the place.

Reading management's responses to negative customer reviews is, to say the least, unusual and shocking for anyone who has an establishment of this type.

Criticism is constructive and helps the owner/management see what is wrong in order to change and improve the service. And the customer is not to blame. There are too many dissatisfied customers for the same place...

I'm sorry I didn't see the reviews before entering the establishment. I saw it, after leaving the place out of curiosity.

In these terms, I do not recommend this restaurant.

Not necessarily recommended. My food was very greasy, the bread was very dry and the oil in the bread was already rancid. The pimientos de padron were okay.

The food was good, with good service and live music...but...a little trick in the menu - blackboard at the entrance...you read a lot of things at a reasonable price, then you enter and the menu is not What you read is much more expensive...you stay...and when you leave you look carefully again...and it puts that letter "out of order"....come on...the cheap one is for decoration .
Otherwise everything is delicious.

Terrible...very expensive, minimal portions, very greasy food, very salty and tasteless, bad service, we saw the opinions and we still decided to give it a chance, pay attention to the reviews because they don't lie...When all the restaurants in the area are full of people and empty It's for a reason.....we do the hazing, don't be fooled...

What a desappointment!
Extremely long service, high prices and quality that is not up to par.
Uma picanha which was not good (despite a second piece brought as a commercial gesture) frozen fries, a bland vegetable soup full of water... and 2 euros for a carafe of purified tap water! At this price, 1l5 of spring water elsewhere.

My partner and I went on vacation, and everything was excellent. The food, the service, the wines, everything was perfect.

Without a doubt a good address. After two visits at different times, we will return without hesitation. The cuisine is excellent, each time a very tasty fresh fish and in sufficient quantity. An excellent Vinho Verde. The welcome and service are also perfect. A good time shared with a sea view at reasonable prices. If you are lucky, you will come across a discreet singer on the terrace with a voice resembling that of Paolo Conté. Thanks to the whole team, we will come back.
