In experiences prior to the last visit, I really liked the food and also the outside environment and service. My last stay at this establishment made me decide not to return. I move in a wheelchair and was accompanied by my daughter and a 6-month-old baby. The establishment does not have a ramp to facilitate access to my chair, which is not portable (it and I weigh 300kg). Despite not having made an appointment, they agreed to serve us but when we asked them to do so on the terrace, they decisively refused: we would have to prepare ourselves before coming. When I mentioned that it was up to the restaurant to ensure accessibility by installing a ramp (in this case, a small one was enough), the owner reacted very unpleasantly. I then went to another restaurant that welcomed us with open arms, made entry easier (more difficult than at Margarida), food and interior atmosphere even better. Conclusion: establishment owners must be sensitive to promoting accessibility to ALL customers. It is a question of citizenship, not to mention humanity.
RESPONSE TO OWNERS: It does not clarify the type of chair used by the customer you are referring to. There are many different chairs on the market. Mine is a Permobil, too heavy to be maneuvered manually and, as I demonstrated on site, it cannot overcome the difference in level between the restaurant entrance and the sidewalk. I did not measure this difference but, in my experience, it will be greater than the aforementioned 2 cm. The carpet mentioned is a sisal doormat, different from the one available, which was plastic, thin and flexible. But they weren't supposed to have that type of rug... Although you can use this tip for future situations... It was a shame that your irritation prevented me from seeing other solutions, as happened in the restaurant where I ate afterwards... Where all I had to do was dismantle a box of wines to compensate for the unevenness. I don't like to complain, but there are attitudes that I cannot, and should not, tolerate. In the end, it was Margarida who lost out... A large family as frequent customers and the information they share and at least fifty euros, for two people, who stopped earning at a time when the restaurant was empty!
