Extremely Disappointing Experience – Will Not Return
Our visit to this restaurant was unfortunately one of the worst dining experiences we've had. Upon arriving, we were made to wait over an hour just to place our order. There was no communication or apology from the staff during this time. When the food finally arrived, it was significantly delayed again — by then, our group was understandably frustrated and hungry.
To make matters worse, when we were ready to pay, we were told their payment system was down. This caused yet another delay of nearly an hour, effectively detaining us at the restaurant until the system was back online. No alternative solutions were offered, and no compensation or apology was extended for the excessive inconvenience.
To top it off, they enforced a mandatory 15% tip because we were a group of six or more — despite the poor service and long delays. While we understand automatic gratuity policies are common, it's unreasonable to expect guests to pay a service charge after such a disappointing experience, especially with zero accountability or compensation offered.
We won’t be returning and would not recommend this place to others. Poor management, lack of communication, and terrible service from start to finish.

Relatively fast service. Pleasant customer service and rather calm atmosphere. The only downside is that there is only one closed toilet in the bathrooms. Which can be a little confusing when a large group wants to leave.

The normal quality of Mikes which is always present and uniform for lunches. (Not for other meals)
There were 6 of us, and no one appreciated the coffee, nor the first cup, nor the warmings.

Good service, however the food is mediocre, the property of the dining room and bathrooms leaves something to be desired. For my part, I will never go back there again.

I ordered a superstar sub in the dining room, the sandwich itself was pretty good with a good amount of toppings despite the obvious lack of sauce. I also chose a poutine as an accompaniment, very decent poutine, slightly lacking in cheese.
Several downsides to Mike's in Baie-Comeau, the Pepsi we ordered arrived “flat” so without sparkling on several occasions even when refilling, my colleague asked twice to have three glasses of water for our table and they never arrived. The service was nothing to complain about, but nothing extraordinary. Correct location for eating, but nothing more.

I didn't know that Mikes made lunches, there's a huge choice and it was really good! I had bene bacon! 8/10 the hollandaise sauce is really good!

My partner had eggs benedict and stopped eating after two bites, telling me that the hollandaise sauce was really not good. After tasting it myself, it was indeed not good. It was almost white and tasted like flour ?. This was mentioned to the waitress who called in the manager. Any good restaurant would have offered another replacement dish and an apology. But we were treated to her total indifference when she told us that it wasn't her fault if she didn't like the sauce, it was Mikes sauce and that the customers found it good ?. In my opinion, Mikes should review his sauce quickly and there is a better chance that other customers will not have complained. I was very disappointed with the way this was handled. Not much chance of me going back. I don't understand why we don't treat our customers better when catering is difficult.
