Dear Deer Garden, how do I start this? Thank you for welcoming my best friend and I on a regular basis to enjoy your excellent food. Every time I come here, I get greeted with great smiles from the staff and I get to leave with warmth not only from the delicious soup but also from the amazing service. -Léa & Alexia

Oh Deer Garden soup signatures, the best asian restaurant in the South Shore. I often come here with my best friend and I always leave with a smile on my face and endless memories of the dinner I had. My tummy is full but heart is fuller of love of this restaurant I like to call home. The service is excellent and it excels every expectation just like the food. 10/10 would recommend

Go get a pho instead, every time they keep cutting the amount of protein.

Lovely spot with a large menu of soups, ingredients and fried cutlets.

Sure, it's 20 bucks a meal now but then again, that's standard now for everywhere.

We lucked out, the service was great, food was awesome too (not epicurian stuff, it's basically comfort hearty food).

Will be craving to go back!

the waiter is SO cute!!!!!!

Vegetarian options: Tofu or vegetable versions of basically everything. And it's really good tofu too

Kid-friendliness: They have chairs for babies. Also the waiters are nice to the kids

Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs to enter or go anywhere inside. Entrance might need someone to open the door for you, though that's it.

I had a disappointing experience here. The staff was unhelpful and dismissive when I asked for recommendations, making me feel judged for simply trying to choose the best option. The soup itself was overpriced and tasted like plain hot water with a few vegetables, completely lacking flavor. For the price and the poor service, I wouldn’t recommend this place when there are far better options elsewhere.

So... I had decent expectations when some people recommended this place... but this was pure disappointment.

First off, the noodles combo. (You chose 1 soup base, 2 proteins, 1 noodle, and 1 drink) I had the Marinated Mustard and Pepper base + sliced beefs brisket + shrimp + udon. The soup base was spammed with salt and pepper to the point that my tastebuds went numb. (I love strong flavors as mild doesn't taste anything to me, so this was a shock) It was way too overpowered by salt and pepper. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS BROTH.

The Lemon Water (H5) that also came with it was terrible. (I didn't think that was even possible) I don't know if it's the cup, but it tasted barely acidic, and it had a weird metal taste. I didn't even want to try adding sugar to see if it would improve... (the drink includes 2 sugar packs on the side) (0/5)

Then we ordered the Chinese Sausage and Charcuterie on Rice (104). This bowl was actually pretty good. (4/5) I highly recommend this for first-timers or anyone overall since you can't go wrong with this dish.

We had a cold lemon tea with this combo and it was pretty good. (4/5) For cold drinks, there is an additional 1.75$ for combos.

Finally, we had the steamer Siu Mai. It was... disappointment. It was pretty flavorless and tiny. I don't recommend this at all.

The food overall was mediocre, but the rice combo was good.

The service... was questionable since it took a while for us to be seated, and our waitress didn't seem to know how to communicate. (Maybe she was tired, who knows) The food came in pretty quickly, though, which is nice. The cashier was also really nice and asked for our feedback, which we greatly appreciated it.

Overall, this seems like a nice establishment but the food was... really sad. I did have good hopes for this place since a few people recommended it, but maybe I just came on the wrong day.

Kid-friendliness: Definitely perfect for family meals.

Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access! No stairs at all!

This is one of the few restaurants in Montreal that serve Hong Kong style milk tea, i always order their make your own soup bowl, but i found their garnitures are always overcooked, I think the reason for this is they kept the ingredients in a steam table to keeping it warm, the advantage of doing this is that they can quickly serve their food, overall, it is a good restaurant, i would recommend for you to try it if you are happan to be near Brossard area (South shore).

Nice ambiance; everything else is just average. I didn’t enjoy any soup or other dishes to be honest. Don’t order anything with steam rice; it’s very blend and not properly cooked.
