I ordered Yakisoba noodles, but they used spaghetti pasta instead of actual Soba noobles. For the price I paid and the japanese authenticity they claim their cuisine is, needless to say it was very disappointing. I could excuse the fact that it didn't taste anything like yakisoba, even though it tasted pretty bland, but the fact that they used spaghetti is mind blowing to me

Honestly I really like this place but I have to make this review.
Sometimes the service is good, sometimes it's okay. Last time I was here it was extremely slow to the point that we had to wait around 20 minutes to get ask for beverages. It was okay the waiting time as we were not in a rush.
I am upset today because I came with my in laws that are visiting from France to show this nice gem and the way the hostess told me that chiens are interdit sur la terrasse was a bit cold hearted. It is okay, each restaurant has its own politics, but Dix 30 is a mall known for its pet friendliness and I have been to different restaurants in du Quartier before.
Anyways, leaving 1 star purely based on the service. I really love the food tho

Ordered a ramen and was asked if I wanted it spicy. Little did I know, it was an extra $3 on the bill. Feels very dishonest. Level of authenticity not really there either.

Honestly a really fun and nice Izakaya. Staff were awesome and super helpful offering both help and recommendations. Quick turn around on food and not too pricey for what the quality provides.

Not too sure how this place got such good reviews and ratings…
Food : 2/5
- sashimi platter : average quality, some are fresh some not that much
- tataki : poor quality fish
- kimchi fried rice : very very oily and not much kimchi flavour. Big disappointment
- sweet potato croquette : served cold
- yakisoba noodles : very salty
- duck mazemen : taste good
- gochujang fried chicken : taste okay
- baked oysters : pretty good, best one out of all the dishes we had
Service : 2.5/5
Service time was very long, we waited at least 35-40min between our first dishes and the rest of it. It’s not like they sorted between appetizers and main…
No soy sauce served with sashimi platter ? First time seeing this… Have to ask for the dipping plates after asking for soy sauce.
We asked for an English version of drinks menu. Waiter said they don’t have any and just walked away. No recommendation or translation provided.
Vibe/decor : 4/5
Nice decoration, not too loud, clean washroom. You get a fun moment when ordering the sake bomb.
Overall experience : too pricey for the quality and taste of the food. Service needs improvement. Will not come back.

IRU Izakaya is a true culinary delight, blending the vibrant spirit of a Japanese gastropub with great food and a well-curated sake selection. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, whether you're savoring small plates or diving into something more substantial. Although expensive, it’s a place that feels both refined and relaxed, where quality and authenticity shine through.

On a hot summer day like this, you might’ve thought to get better air circulation than outside, nope.
Server was indifferent with us but seemed to treat other guests with more enthusiasm, no comment there as I have no explanation for that. Not one to indulge in alcohol, nor my partner, and as a result we were given an eyebrow raise for declining as if they had a say in what we choose or choose not to consume.
Miso Soup, Takoyaki, Gochujang Karaage, and 24pc Sashimi Platter. Dishes to share and miso soup were fine, wouldn’t say I was amazed. Wasabi that came with the platter was the size of a dime, soysauce in one little dish with no means of sharing it.
Food ordering took quite some time. Bill payment took quite some time.
Overall, dissatisfactory. Not an authentic experience, would never go again, would not recommend.
Stomach now upset, happy birthday to me I guess.

The decor creates a really interesting atmosphere! The service was ok. The meal was satisfying. Particularly the fries which were excellent! I was not surprised and/or upset by my tasting but it still does. I will opt for other options because I have the impression that certain other dishes would have been more interesting.
