As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Evans, who, despite being the only one in charge of the service, showed exceptional professionalism and attention to detail.
Our delight didn’t stop there! The next morning, we had the pleasure of enjoying an equally delicious breakfast, served with the same care by Madame Lise.
In short, the Restaurant du Moulin is a real gem in Val-Jalbert. We highly recommend this establishment to anyone who loves good food and exceptional service.

My God! What a delight! It's rare to eat this good and what's more in a special context, very close to the falls! Everything was a 10/10 from A to Z! A plus for the sorbet which comes with the semi-cooked chocolate and the brownie, I have never eaten such a good sorbet!
The waitress was absolutely lovely! I was pleasantly surprised that we were asked to go see the waterfall next door before ordering dessert, it's the first time I've heard that and it was a wonderful idea! I recommend a thousand times!!!! And thank you to the bus driver inside the village who was just as adorable!

Infectious... Invited by friends I had low expectations for this restaurant and despite everything I was disappointed. I also felt sick after my meal. The bison tartare is not fresh and tastes nothing. The main courses are uninspiring and bland. The desserts are lousy. Change the menu from A to Z... Add a little flavor to it, it's embarrassing. Plus the waitress seemed too tired to give us REAL service... I usually never leave comments but here enough is enough...

I never leave negative reviews, but if I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would.

It took 1 hour to be served a starter, followed by another hour wait for us to be served our mains. Unfortunately 2 of us ordered salmon risotto and the rice was very undercooked, meaning we couldn’t eat it.

After a 2 hour wait to be served our main meal, for it then to be inedible, we requested that this be discounted from the bill; only to be told that this wasn’t possible. We were made to pay in full for our food because it was a ‘fixed menu’, their only discount were drinks amounting to just $30.

Possibly the longest dining experience in my life and we were not alone. Many tables were suffering the same delays and another table had to leave without receiving their main meal after 2hrs and 40 minutes.

Avoid avoid avoid.

Good service but bad experience for the kitchen only the starters were good the rest not edible. The chef must review his menus

I highly recommend the gourgan soup, the tourtière du lac and the blueberry tart. Very good value for money.

An endless waiting time for both dinner and breakfast, which completely spoils the experience. For dinner for example, arrival at 7 p.m., first course at 8 p.m.... end of dinner at 9:30 p.m. After a long day of driving, you don't want to wait so long for dishes that are decent but not exceptional.

Our reservation was not taken into account, we drove more than 40 minutes to get here and no table was given to us. Very disappointed, especially since no action was taken! Would you have to book 5 times for this to work?

It was OK. The food was good and well prepared on the plate. Staff was very kind and prepared. Service a bit long. The only thing they should change it's the atmosphere. Too much noises. A table next us was talking too loud and saying badwords too. Incredible!

We're talking about gourmet cuisine, but for $100 per person, it's clearly not up to par...
Uncontrolled cooking... Overcooked trout, undercooked osso bucco, tough meat...
We announce 4 courses, the 4th course was just a simple potato soup, with no particular flavors.
The only positive point is the kindness of the waitress, but there are only 2 of them for the whole restaurant...

We went to the Restaurant du Moulin in Val Jalbert two evenings in a row during our two-night stay on site in house accommodation. The restaurant is located on the site of the old factory, right next to the majestic waterfall, and therefore in an enchanting site.
The restaurant is not very big but it is super beautiful, well integrated into the history of the site in my opinion. There is also a room intended for groups next to the main room.
For the restaurant itself. We had a high-level dining experience. We often go to famous restaurants when on vacation and this one has nothing to envy of many of them. From starter to dessert, all dishes, both evenings, were excellent.
Big favorite with the giant scallops on tagliatelle with mushrooms. Incredible pasta. The extra half lobster tail was just wow. Several Gaspésie restaurants should come and learn the ideal cooking that we apply here.
The grilled dish was excellent. The sauce really good.
The trout fillet and osso buco were also very good.
All the different starters we tried were as good as each other.
In addition to the quality of the dishes, the service offered by Caroline on the first evening as well as by Marek on the second evening was impeccable. Courteous, unparalleled and fast service. The very example of the service that such a restaurant should provide. A big thank you to the kitchen team for the excellence of the dishes.
Definitely one of the good restaurants that I have visited and that I will revisit when I am in the area again.
