We visited Chez Marie at the recommendation of some dear friends and we were not disappointed! The very friendly daughter of the latest "Marie" (both her mother and grandmother were named Marie) was just taking a batch of pastries from the oven, so we got to try her apple turnover, raspberry pastry, and (her amazing) maple pecan, and a cinnamon roll. She also made us a fresh pot of coffee. It was a delightful visit and we heartily recommend it to others!

This is the spot. Wow. So cute and rustic. The pastry has an audible crunch. Flakey and perfectly jammed. (I think I made that word up). The bread came warm and fresh. Just like grandmas. Just wow.

Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. Stopped in after seeing reviews and photos but we were a bit disappointed. No selection at all - not so fresh croissants w butter and jam was all they had. Not great coffee either. The old home itself was interesting and the service was fine, nice people. Just don't expect much.

Try their homemade breads and especially their raisin breads, the best I have ever eaten without cinnamon taste (I hate cinnamon).

The toilets are in a pitiful state...that didn't make me want to try the food. Unfriendly staff. Needs renovations!

I am glad we came to this place. The store owner is trying to get more customers like used to before Covid. Within one hour distance from downtown Quebec city. We drove 360 the entire time, instead of 138. The early chute Montmorency experience avoided the crowd, on the way to Chez Marie, saw 1) chateau Zoe-Turgeon and 2) chateau Richer that was a catholic church. But the vegetable cave, old oven from mid 1600 at Chez Marie was amazing for a cooking lover person like me! The store owner was willing to talk with English or French. I think she knows some Spanish too! It was a wonderful experience.

Same great place and bread that I remember. Nice to have some things that stay the same. Stocked up on the essentials while passing through Quebec
