My First Ever Negative Review – Disappointed at Royal Tandoori, Granby**

We visited Royal Tandoori in Granby yesterday and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. We were the first customers of the day, arriving as soon as the restaurant opened. We placed our order around 11:45 AM but didn’t receive our food until 12:30 PM — quite a long wait, especially with no other customers ahead of us.

We ordered two vegetarian buffet meals and one non-vegetarian buffet, each priced at \$25. For that price, we expected decent variety and flavor. Unfortunately, the taste did not live up to expectations. The paneer curry in particular tasted more like plain tomato puree — lacking depth and seasoning.

What was even more surprising was the absence of dessert. In most Indian buffets, a sweet dish is standard — whether it’s gulab jamun, kheer, or something simple. This buffet had none, which felt incomplete.

This was, sadly, my first bad experience at an Indian restaurant, and I don’t usually leave negative reviews. But at these prices, with underwhelming food and slow service, I felt compelled to share here and I told server that we are in rush we need to attend meeting and if your out of water you should until they come they said unlimited at first when we ask for naan she said only I can give chanamasala and naans are extra we said it’s buffet to her then she said I ask the chef and let you know then she said it’s included moreover when ever we will go to this restaurant and recommend to anyone

We liked the service. Loved the food. The portions are a bit small. The gobi was our surprise, it was excellent!

The food is so bland. Needs more spices and flavor and salt. Literally 0 level spicy. Chicken 65 did not taste right. Biryani had potential but again, BLAND. It’s so bland I’m doubting it’s Indian food.

Took 35 minutes for the server to take our order, even after asking to be served, no water served too during that time ? We were at the restaurant for 2h 45 minutes, it was so long. To be fair it was a busy night and this is the first time this happened to us. Food is excellent

Honestly, the building itself could use a little TLC, but don't let that deter you! The REAL charm of Royal Tandoori Granby lies in its incredible food. This place serves up some of the most delicious Indian cuisine I've ever had, and I'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to finding authentic flavors.
From the moment I tasted the samosas, I knew I was in for a treat. Perfectly crispy on the outside, packed with flavor on the inside. But the star of the show was the chicken tikka masala. Seriously, it was outstanding. The chicken was so tender, and the sauce was creamy, rich, and perfectly spiced.
And let's not forget the naan! Freshly baked, with just the right amount of char. It was the perfect vehicle for scooping up every last drop of that amazing tikka masala sauce. Even the rice was cooked to perfection.
Despite the somewhat dated decor, the service was friendly and attentive, which added to the overall experience. If you're looking for amazing Indian food in Granby, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed!

First experience with Indian food. Soon good my new favorite ?

Our first time there, we just left and OMG 10 STAR if I could. The food was extraordinary, so stuffed..... And our waitress was beautiful, one of my new favorite places to go!!!!

Excellent experience!! We ordered the onion bhajee, vegetable samosa, daal soup, matter paneer, malai kofta, garlic naan bread and rice… everything was perfect! The service was very good and a constant water refill! The restaurant was full and the atmosphere warm! I definitely want to come back!
