Restaurant Au Vieux Duluth Greenfield Park

I usually dine in at this place and usually it’s great, but the last time I went, I didn’t enjoy my experience at all. The night was busy, so I expected there be a long wait and the staff would be running around. My issue was my food being so dry it tasted like it was made in the morning and left out to dry, the waiter took forever to take our orders (again, expected since it was busy) other tables were getting their food before us, even if they came after us, they only brought water ONCE at the table, and we asked but they kept forgetting until we got to the bill.

I also ubered there once and I found bugs in my salad, the chicken was so small and dry, the potatoes tasted like they had been in the back of the cupboard for too long and they just found them. It was such a disappointment!

Like I said, I’m used to going to this restaurant for years and I had nothing to say, but 2 bad experiences back to back makes me not want to go there again.

For now, I uber from the restaurant in Lasalle. They seem to have it right every time.

We when to this Vieux Duluth restaurant in Greenfield Park this week.
We arrived there a 8:15 pm. We wanted to eat and relax.
We were greed at the door by a waiter. He told us the restaurant close at 9 pm.
Ok, I said. If we order our food, and arrive at the table 15 min. later, it will give us less the 30 min. to eat.
The waiter said you have to leave, we're close at 9.
I said to him, yes you close at 9, you don't allow customers in after that. Then he said yes, and we close at 9, you have to leave.
I told him even if we're not finished eating, do we have to leave? He said yes.
I told him this first time I hear a restaurant where the customers have not finish their meal, but they have leave because they are close.
I have never heard of that, this is the first time in my life I experience this situation.
I got angry, I told him, even if the customer is not finished their meal and they have leave because you're closed? He didn't reply me. I ask him several times, he didn't answer me either
Normally, in the restaurant business, if the customer is not finish eating their meal, although the restaurant is closed, they will wait until the customer finish eating before they close completely. They don't kick the customers out because they are close!
It's bad attitude and unaccommodating. Bad customers relation. Very disappointed. They won't see me returning there anytime soon.

Haven’t been here in many years and I don’t know why. The food is delicious and none of us were disappointed. That said, the friendly staff put the entire experience over the top. Management should know that the staff on Friday March 28 were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and went beyond what we expected from them. From the greeters, the water guy, all the waitresses and waiters, literally the entire staff. The food was absolutely delicious and we’ll be back.

Friday, February 7, 9:15 p.m. still a lot of customers finishing their coffee/dessert, we turn on the lights, turn off the music, and the little bus boy who passes at 2 minutes staring at us as we talk about the PC, VERY VERY ORDINARY SERIOUS!! It’s not midnight siboire! Calm down a little, we're regulars, but not sure we'll go back soon....

We frequent this restaurant in hull and Gatineau as we live in Ottawa and everything is always A+
We have been to the one in laval which was awesome as well.
This location.... 1st I feel like its super cramped, tables are so close together. 2nd they served bland tomato sauce instead of the usual seafood sauce with the calamari that was also tasteless. We returned it as we could not eat it .
The drink I ordered came with my meal which took a longer time then it should have. My husband ordered ceaser salad with his meal and it was dry....
The service was not there at all. He only came to the table to bring the food . Never checked on us once .
Super disappointed with this location 😞

Very disappointed worse Vieux-Duluth where we ate they would be interested in copying the one in Laval corner St-Martin and Industriel which we go to often and have never been disappointed.

Their extraordinary chicken skewer, my partner, it’s their filet mignon, it’s very good

Me and my partner were disappointed, we usually go to old Duluth in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and we are never disappointed, however here in Grenfield Park the potatoes were as soft as mash, the 3 pepper sauce was liquid like water and the chicken was ok but nothing more, the garlic butter was poor, the salad was ok and so was the rice.
The waiter never came to see us to ask if everything was ok.
So, for us this is the last time we come to eat here we much prefer Vieux Duluth in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu which is not beatable 👍

the dhote table is not worth it the main meal was good however I had asked for my meat medium rare and I got it medium rare the waiter did not come to see if everything was ok we asked him for ketchup for children but we never got it we had to ask another server

Great service. Loved the food. The butterfly shrimp was amazing along with the steak. We really enjoy the large serving sizes, enough to take home and eat again. Atmosphere was calm with appealing decor.

There are 3 of us who ordered the chicken and shrimp which were served cold, the shrimp are not what they used to be, the taste is weird. The rice is still good. The service was excellent as was our table on the window sill.
