The waitress with a blond ponytail and word tattoos on her back is super kind and was very personable and bubbly. The waitress with the short purple hair should begin with kindness and patience even if she may find a situation annoying...it is not ok to be sighing and impatient when trying to get your point across to a group of calm and kind people. Luckily the other waitress mentioned above was able to make us feel comfortable. As for the food, I ordered the mild buffalo wings but they did not taste like buffalo sauce at all, they really tasted like the chef had just sprinkled sriracha over a sweet bbq sauce. Buffalo sauce should be more vinegar-forward, not sugar-forward. I remember the Caesar salad being much better in the late 2010's, I know management has changed a few times since then, so the salad has too, but it could benefit from a better quality dressing as well as fresh Parmesan and a lemon wedge.

I also believe that the staff should have Witsend branded tshirts instead of crop tops. A little modesty goes a long way and it is currently not a good look.

I wish the new management success but there are definitely some changes that need to be made.

Was very excited as this quaint Resto bar had great reviews but once I was there with my group we were drinking beer on the patio. Once we were served due to the alcohol we were told to not drink alcohol on the premises. We all said no problem and preceded to throw out all of the alcohol and previously asked. We are all Hispanic Canadians and we all felt discriminated against as a group due to either our race or alcohol consumption. After that we were asked what to eat and some of us ordered while I was indecisive. As some of us spoke French and some didn’t we all tried to translate for the individual who doesn’t speak English or French very well. The waitress proceeded to ask if anyone speaks french or English on the table expressing how it was difficult to understand even thought the person ordering was pointing directly at the menu and food. It is not rocket science. We then were told that the waitress will switch us with someone that speaks Spanish because she doesn’t understand anything and seems disinterested and not willing to help with the order herself. I wouldn’t have minded if the waitress nicely would have apologized and told us politely but she racially profiled us and assumed we werent even going to order food we all heard her verbally say in French that she KNEW that we wouldn’t order food. WHAT TYPE OF SERVICE IS THIS? We live in downtown Montreal and we have NEVER experienced this. Other micro-aggressions were verbally expressed by the waitress and this is completely unacceptable. Her superior was supporting her employee and didn’t take accountability for her employee and herself as a manager and part of a bigger team. We even messaged them directly and no accountability was taken. They treated us like they never served minorities before.

My husband and I tried their specialty, the fish and chips, and it was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, and the service was excellent and quick. Our waitress, who is also the owner, Natasha, went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back.

Went yesterday for lunch with the wife and friends. The service was fast and friendly. My wife and I started with the onion rings which were good. Then my wife had the reuben and my friends and I had the fish and chips. Everything was very good. The only complaint I had was the price of the onion rings. I think that $12 for a small basket of rings is a bit high which is why I left 4 stars instead of 5.

Friendly, busy and well organized.

Great small pub vibes everytime, cold beer and best fish n’ chips in town!

.•*It reminds me of our fish n’ chips back home in our little fishing community in East Chezzetcook, NS*•. -vinegar dresses it well-
