I’m giving them only 1* because they advertise they closed at 7pm, yet when I arrived at 6:30pm they had already locked up. I try to support local but this is not the first time a local business closes early and causes us to drive elsewhere to get what we need.
My husband, toddler and I really enjoy their sandwiches. We've been several times on our way home from a day trip, and always enjoy their front terrace as our dog can join. We've tried a variety of their pastries and sandwiched, we've really enjoyed their Reuben and Piri Piri chicken. Not to mention their bread-products are also fantastic. Fair prices and quality ingredients. Thanks so much!

Coffee and pastries are excellent. Unfortunately they serve stale pastries. This obviously makes them easy money. But it’s not a way to keep customers.

My favorite spot in Hudson! The baked goods and breads are incredible, and they always have a great selection of wines and meats. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is wonderful, and they always make Auggie and I feel welcomed!

Was referred to this place by several people. Unfortunately my first visit wasn’t great. Bought sausage rolls and almond croissants. The sausage pastries were great but the almond croissants…yikes!!! Croissants are supposed to be flaky, unfortunately these seemed like day old pastries that were maybe baked again the next day. The ends were tough and rubbery. I was really disappointed because they’re not cheap and we were having people for brunch so that was a bit embarrassing 😟
Five stars for Furley?
Nope. Seven.
Furley defies description. I’ve traveled over 4 million miles and have had at least some of the best food in the world. Absolute food heavens like Lyon, Prague, Jakarta, Mexico City, Chengdu, Stockholm. Yet I’ve rarely come across a place that truly excels at everything they do, as most of the best-known food spots excel and one thing and are pretty good at the rest.
Baked goods? Check. From sweet to savory to a mix of both, every day (especially weekends), Furley hits it out of the park. From seriously authentic sausage rolls to Quebec soul food like sugar pie, the absurdly talented team in the Furley kitchen never, ever misses. The bread is fantastic too.
The butcher counter? World-class. From PEI Denver steaks to stunning cod to a sublime flattened marinated whole chicken, the meat and fish here are absolutely can’t miss.
And while everything I’ve mentioned is amazing, the Academy Award goes to Luka and the to-go food. Mushroom pie, cod pie, the best eggs in the province, shrimp salad, fresh chicken schnitzel, and amazing made-to-order sandwiches, if there were Michelin stars for carry-out, Furley would be covered in them.
But best part of Furley is the people. Everyone is wonderful. So kind and friendly. They genuinely love what they do and—especially Teá and the team helping everyone at the front—deeply understand the levels of nuance involved in being a really welcoming host. It’s always a warm place; no matter how busy, everyone gets a smile.
What did I miss? Really solid coffee (outstanding Americano), the homemade granola is ridiculous, and the small but wow selection of special little things (cans of wildly flavorful tuna belly from Spain, perfect tourney beef jerky, and YES the dog cookies) are must-haves.
So, Furley is a gem. Absolutely worth a trip from Montréal and if you’re driving in between the city and Ottawa, it’s like 8 minutes out of your way and 100% worth it.

There is no Hudson without Furley’s 🥐
I love unassuming places that casually serve up the best of the something you've ever had. The sandwiches are just phenomenal. Dear Furley - I am expecting your sandwiches to be as good in 1, 5 and 10 years from now! Please don't let anything slide, I need them in my life.

A Hidden Gem with the Best Croissant I've Ever Had
I can't say enough good things about this place! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the warm, comforting aroma of freshly baked goods. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
But the real star here is the food—absolutely delicious! Everything I've tried has been top-notch, but their croissant deserves a special shoutout. Flaky, buttery, and perfectly baked, it's hands down the best croissant I've ever eaten in my life. I've had croissants in a lot of places, but none have come close to the quality and flavor of this one.
If you're a food lover or just looking for a great spot to grab a bite, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't be disappointed!
Food is delicious and the owner is so nice and friendly. Love their meats and breads.
Shaun you are hands down one of the hardest-working, most community-minded people I’ve ever met. Your dedication to what you do is unreal, and honestly, the quality of your food is exceptional.
Thank you for thoughtful suggestions while my dad is recovering - Best bone broth. Thank you for caring about the people in your community and for putting so much heart into everything you do. Hudson is so lucky to have you.
Wishing you Julie and the kids
continued success and prosperity and your beautiful family deserve it.
