Excellent food and service. Sarah and Jay worked wonders preparing our scrumptious food with gusto. Bryanna, our server, went to extremes offering not only our dishes but describing their mouth watering attributes. Super friendly and accommodating establishment, will definitely return for another memorable evening. It's somewhat pricey compared to your day to day restaurant; however, fairly represents the superlative quality of plates and 5 star Michelin star chef and team that graces the kitchen. My wife and I have been loyal patrons of The Main Kitchen in Hudson for many years, even hosting her 50th birthday celebration there nine years ago. We've always appreciated the great experiences and warm atmosphere the restaurant offered.
Unfortunately, during our visit last night and the last, we found the ambiance had changed significantly. The noise level was so high that it was nearly impossible to carry on a conversation with our friends, and the dining area was uncomfortably cold, even with the blankets provided.
While we understand that restaurants evolve, these changes have taken away from what made The Main Kitchen so special to us. We hope management takes this feedback into account to bring back the comfort and charm we used to love about this place.

I am a regular customer that spend annually between $750 - $1,000 / year at this restaurant.
Tonight, I left a tip of $15.00 on a $130.00 bill before tax. I wanted to leave a $18.00 tip but made a mistake on the terminal and could not make a correction.
The waitress came to me as I was leaving asking if I was unhappy with the service. I guess she expected a minimum tip of $23,00 on the total bill with government tax. I pay normally 15% tip before tax which is what is fair.
I found this insulting to ask for more money.
Restaurant just lost a loyal faithful returning customer on this insultting gesture.

Main Kitchen is truly a hidden gem in Hudson, and it's worth every bit of the trip! Their menu is packed with creative, flavorful dishes that never disappoint. I especially love the small plates concept—it's perfect for trying a variety of their tasty options. Each dish feels original, thoughtfully prepared, and bursting with flavor.
And as a bonus, it's BYOW, which just adds to the experience. Can't believe I waited this long to write this review, but after countless amazing meals, it's time to give them the praise they deserve. If you haven’t been yet, you're missing out!

Good food but tiny. It’s a nice place to have a chat with friends. You can bring your wine or beer but don’t go if you’re hungry

Great food but BEWARE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES
I know I’m writing this review way after the fact but I’ve been thinking about this for so long that I feel like I need to get it out there. I went with my husband and parents in August 2023 and we made it clear from the start that my husband is allergic to fish. We were very careful to check that what we were ordering did not contain fish and were reassured that it did not. Yet it’s lucky that I taste food for my husband as the first dish we received had anchovies in it and I could taste it. When I asked they confirmed and apologized. We figured it’s okay they made one mistake. And yet we ordered a main dish to share and once again one of the sauces had anchovies. Normally if something like this happens someone should have come to the table to apologize and we would be given that dish free or something to make up for this big mistake that could have been life threatening. But nothing happened. We paid the whole bill and nobody came to talk to us. It was like « oops sorry » and not taken seriously. I really like the food here so it pains me to write this but we will never be going back. I’ve even seen other reviews that struggled with allergies.

Very good food and original. Sitting at the bar, you can admire the ease of the culinary artist at work. Very good service. Small quantity but which invites more tasting. A noisy atmosphere but which goes with the style of the establishment. I would speak highly of it. ? ♥️
