Deserves a 5 Star! Food was exceptional, service was excellent. Would highly recommend. Look forward to dining there again !
Spectacular!!!!!! Best restaurant in the area. Amazing food, have the mushroom crème brûlée.
Incredible service. Loved it & will be back. 10 out of 10. Thanks Emily & Felix. Cheers
We had a wonderful stay and can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The owner, who also served as our hostess, was incredibly helpful and accommodating, which set the tone right from the start. We enjoyed supper on site and it was absolutely amazing—delicious food with attentive, super-friendly waitstaff who made the experience even better.
The owner/hostess, Emilie, was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions for exploring the local area, which we really appreciated. The room was comfortable, very clean, and spacious, with a beautiful water view that made our stay extra special. While there is no elevator, the single flight of stairs was easy to navigate and not an issue at all.
In the morning, coffee was available in the restaurant and breakfast was delicious and prepared fresh for us. We’ve already been telling our friends who travel regularly that this hotel is absolutely worth the stop if they’re travelling through the area. Overall, a fantastic experience—we would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.
Edit to add that you MUST have the mushroom creme brulee and the charcuterie selection with a fantastic selection of truly local cured meats and cheeses. And their pickled onions were delish!
We are delighted to have found Auberge La Marmite - a beautifully appointed inn overlooking the St Lawrence River. Everything about it was welcoming, cozy and inviting. We enjoyed a delicious dinner with excellent wine and cider suggested by our waiter, Johnny. The staff and owner could not have been nicer, suggesting local favorite culinary treats and things to do/explore in the area. Everything about our stay was excellent!!! We have traveled extensively in North America and Europe. If you are looking for great food and great people in a peaceful, relaxing environment, check this out! You will love it!
I have visited La Marmite quite a few times, the service is impeccable, staff is friendly and knowledgeable of their product. It is locally owned and sourced which is a big plus. They have a great view of the Murray Bay and a nice ambiance especially in the summer.
On a recent holiday in La Malbaie, four of us dined at Auberge La Marmite and it was a highlight of our ten days in the region. The food was exceptionally delicious and creative - we are still talking about the mushroom creme brulee. The service was also excellent - thanks to the attentive and engaged waiter, we learned of an excellent art exhibit in the local gallery. We highly recommend the restaurant and would plan a future vacation in the area, solely for the excellent food and service.
We were staying across the street and came here for dinner one night - what amazing views of the river right from our seat! The mushroom creme brulee is a MUST try dish - one of my favorite bites the entire vacation. Tiramisu was also excellent.
Very accommodating for English speakers! Note that parking in this area is quite difficult if you're not staying in one of the many B&Bs.
Had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful place for my stay in La Malbaie. The room that were given, gives a very old and rustic vibe. If you are into such a thing, you will love this hotel/inn. The host is very friendly, and provided good restaurants for us in the area, that serve vegetarian. For amenities, the basics are given, which suffice but be warned that the shower is very small for a 6 foot male. Overall very good place and would recommend.
Very Good.
Had dinner at La Marmite. Phenomenal food and attentive service. Not cheap but well worth it.

Auberge La Marmite is, in my opinion, one of the province’s most authentic expressions of Québécois cuisine. The atmosphere is effortlessly charming, with the presentation never straying towards the ostentatious. Felix continues to deliver a menu built around the principles of home-style cooking and seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. This is where La Marmite truly shines: each dish feels like it’s crafted with genuine care, passion, and a clear vision of what honest food should be.
Rooms are small but nice. Minimum amenities in the room: no A/C, no small fridge or coffee machine. The views are beatiful, friendly staff and good breakfast. We didn't try their restaurant but it looked delicious. Overall we liked our stay here!
Husband and I ate at Marmite for date night and we were both absolutely blown away. We ordered the table d’hôte and the food was truly so delicious. Cute spot with chic ambiance and great food.
Absolutely beautiful location, and we were expecting good food when we walked in. We were blown away by how personable and helpful our waitress was, and then even more by the food. Everything was cooked perfectly and was incredibly delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to come back when we travel to this area again.
