I would have expected a smoked meat place to have fries but they had none. None of the staff members checked on us during the meal, which was a shame because they forgot the salsa for the nachos. A little restaurant hidden in the back streets of La Malbaie, one of the only restaurants that still had space over Thanksgiving weekend. The menu had a good selection of food with some great smoked meat. However, it was a bit disappointing that a bar with classic items did not have fries as an option with any meal. The pizza was a bit small for the price, and the staff felt quite ignorant towards us when entering, which was surprising since the restaurant was pretty empty.

This month, as COVID-19 grinds on, the restaurants in La Malbaie have cut back on hours and are unable to find staff; all of this in the high vacation season. So without a fine dining reservation of at least three days in advance, the options are limited, so we ended up at Harvey Smoked Meat. We are completely impressed with the hard-working owner, who with one trainee, and an always disappearing cashier, who served up two-dozen customers in the hour we were there. Without his industry, we might have had to return to the Metro grocery store for another picnic dinner. The smoked meat was as good as Montreal's best. But a warning about the homemade spruce beer. The bottle opens like champagne spilling out most of the contents, while we believe the cork might still be orbiting the earth.

Food quality is not good and overpriced.I have ordered the combo “Demi sous -marine avec demi-spaghetti”.* The salad from the sous-marine was not fresh and the dressing hided the smoked meat taste.* The spaghetti wasn’t fresh, I ordered and paid for smoked meat sauce but I received the regular bolognese sauce heated on microwave.

It is hard to find a place to eat a late lunch on a Monday in La Malbaie so we appreciated finding this place. It is a pub/bar style setting - so nothing fancy. The menu is limited but the smoked meat was great. The sandwiches were served with a pickle and chips (hadn't had that in a while). We had a nice IPA with it. The manager/server was fantastic. Very friendly, working the bar and getting the kitchen going until some additional staff arrived. Good place to grab a bite.

A hidden gem in this area of what seems to be a few fast food places, pizzerias, patisseries, and local bar/restaurant dives. Nice atmosphere and good food.
Accueil froid et limite agressif. Le personnel vient à votre table pour vous aviser d'aller chercher votre plat au comptoir. Table sale, aucun nettoyage entre les clients. Seule la viande est correcte. Le reste du plat est très banal. Prix vraiment élevé pour ce que c'est. Attrape touriste pour les gens du casino.
