It took a while to get greeted when we arrived and we had to order at the counter. The food was good, but a bit underwhealming considering the price. I would have expected a smoked meat place to have fries but they had none. None of the staff members checked on us during the meal, which was a shame because they forgot the salsa for the nachos. Okay experience, but easily could be improved.
A little restaurant hidden in the back streets of La Malbaie, one of the only restaurants that still had space over Thanksgiving weekend. The menu had a good selection of food with some great smoked meat. However, it was a bit disappointing that a bar with classic items did not have fries as an option with any meal. The pizza was a bit small for the price, and the staff felt quite ignorant towards us when entering, which was surprising since the restaurant was pretty empty.
This month, as COVID-19 grinds on, the restaurants in La Malbaie have cut back on hours and are unable to find staff; all of this in the high vacation season. So without a fine dining reservation of at least three days in advance, the options are limited, so we ended up at Harvey Smoked Meat. We are completely impressed with the hard-working owner, who with one trainee, and an always disappearing cashier, who served up two-dozen customers in the hour we were there. Without his...
