We've been clients to Sogen for the past 4 years. 2 weeks ago we went the food was not good and the waiter had an attitude. We thought it was not our lucky day but yesterday it was a next level.
1. The miso soup was cold - we asked for hot one but it came back cold (in less than a minute).
2. The sogen chicken (sweet and spicy), the sauce was cold that the meat was like a jelly.
3. We asked for 2 edmamae but served one only (we were charged for 1 only)
4. The tzatziki dish was super dirty, the waiter has to wipe the bottom of the plate 3 times.
5. The service was very slow, we wanted to order dessert but the waiter was busy and other 3 waiters kept getting in and out looking at the tables and didn't bother to check in.

I was there on Thursday with my wife. We ordered a couple different type of sushi’s and a hot plate that came with rice. We both had food poisoning and woke up in the middle of the night with all the symptoms of food poisoning. I had to miss work on Friday because the symptoms were bad. I just recovered fully after 2 days.

The best sushi 😋 Good ambiance

The food is just fine, the avocado maki I ordered is not even fresh, it looked rotten. nothing special about it, though plating is nice. What I don’t like is the attitude of the waitress. No smile at all, and she looked impatient so I got a bit scared of asking questions. I would not recommend it, and I will definitely not come back again. If you don’t mind driving 10 more minutes, there are much more nicer Japanese restaurants in Brossard, delicious and unique, waiter and waitress are not giving you a grumpy face.

Very lovely, and the dish presentation was unmatched. I would have loved a place to hang my coat, for cooler months. I also found the bathroom didn't match the rest of this establishment in cleanliness or amenities.

The atmosphere is definitely the aspect that I loved the most when dining here. The spacious couches/ chairs and the good distance between the tables really makes you feel more comfortable and less cramped in the restaurant. The service was delightful, while maintaining her professionalism, the waitress was polite and friendly. I do feel like it did take quite a long time before we managed to order our food but the restaurant was quite busy so it is understandable. I really enjoyed their edamame soup. It's such an innovative concept to me, I never had soup like this before but I was a bit disappointed because I couldn't really taste any edamame. But still, the soup was creamy and tasted great. As for the sashimi combo that I had, I really enjoyed the freshness of the fish and the size of the slices. The presentation was also magnificent. For 45$ the combo though, I do feel like the platter of sashimi was a bit underwhelming. The cuts were quite basic and even though I like the presentation, most of the stuff on it was not really adding anything to the flavours. The radish was also a bit bitter which made the overall less enjoyable. I would have loved to see some fancier ingredients such as fatty tuna or scallops, especially for the prices they charge for 16 pieces of sashimi.
