I was shopping in the store for specific ingredients to make homemade chow mein and spent quite a bit of money. When I got home, I opened the bag of bean sprouts — they had a bit of a smell, but I didn’t think much of it since sometimes they can smell off until rinsed. I added them into my chow mein, and when I went to try it, the whole dish tasted like ammonia. At first I thought maybe it was the sauce, but after a couple bites I realized it was definitely the bean sprouts. Now I ended up throwing all my chow mein away — I had made enough for five portions — and I’m left with a stomachache.

I heard about this store from family and friends and we decided to go and see for ourselves. It's conveniently located in lasalle and it has a good number of free parking spaces. The iighting in the entrance from the street is not adequate though the one in the entrance to the store is sufficient. Even the parking lot is poorly lighted. And the paint on the ground to indicate parking spaces are difficult to recognize. The store has sufficient space for a variety of fruits, vegetables and other cooking needs. There's a ready-to-eat section where one could choose meals for takeout. The meat section is prominently located but I was wondering if there is a fiah section for I never saw one which surprises me since most store of its kind has a fishery areas. There's the usual empty boxes that are freely available in case you didn't bring shopping bags to take home your purchased goods. Checking out is smooth though they are understaffed at night. I didn't find an apple cider vinegar too. Overall I still recommend this store the same way it was endorsed by my church family and friends. Try it yourself to get first hand experience.
