Small bakery and café very well integrated into the village of Des Cèdres near the quay and the river shuttle allowing you to cross the river. Bread or pastries can be ordered in advance. They also have a variety of quality products, sandwiches and cold meats. In summer, cyclists take full advantage of the place.

We have often passed this café/bakery and often thought about a visit. This time, it was lunchtime, so we stopped. What a friendly place! It's just like visiting a favourite aunt for tea and biscuits.
The parking is ample, with a nice grassy garden space. There is a small terrace with shade on the gallery of the owners' renovated family house.
The entrance is from the side and the counter displays an amazingly wide menu of options; in the corner is a freezer with supplies to take home, croissants to bake, soup, sauces, bread dough and similar items.
We ordered a chicken/bacon wrap, spinach-cheese pastry, apple turnover and coffee. All were absolutely delicious.
We ate upstairs, a cozy area rearranged into a large room with tables and a washroom.
I used to work in a museum and historical details interest me. I noticed the wide uneven floorboards, the mansard shape of the roof, the gable windows with some of the original hardware, the kitchen wing off the back, the re-purposed ceiling boards upstairs, and the general layout. I began speculating as to its age (1870?) and the original layout inside (the stairs had been moved, some bedroom walls upstairs removed, insulation and ventilation installed) and guessing where the original stovepipe had been.
As we left, I admired the images on the stair wall showing the house transformation; what a magnificent job! I visited their artistic informative website and found I had guessed the age of the house accurately. It would be nice if the photos of the renovation stayed on-screen long enough to study closely.
Very few whole-house renovations manage to keep the features that define the spirit of the house while re-purposing the vocation of the house without losing something in the translation. Whoever planned this treasure of family reminiscences really knows his/her stuff; the result is phenomenal.
And the food is fabulous! We will be back.
Parking: Lots of parking and a small garden in which to wander.
Wheelchair accessibility: I'm partially mobility challenged. I did cope with the outdoor steps (about 3, with a sturdy rail) and we sat upstairs ( a full vintage staircase, with a sturdy rail.) I didn't look for a ramp. but there may be one.

Very attentive staff! I had to wait for the famous pistachio nuts to come out of the oven and the owner came to bring me a coffee and a small croissant to keep me waiting. It is with gestures like this that he makes his service unique and impeccable!

They make my favorite almondines. The croissant dough is flaky and very crispy. The filling in the center tastes more like vanilla (very light almond taste, which I like unlike other pastries). With the almond pieces on top for crunch!! They are perfect ?

Prices are fair, tastes rich and fresh, kids and wife loved it
I go here about once a month and absolutely love it. They always have fun pastries and there are board games upstairs. My GF and I go when we are in the area, we share a coffee and some pastries, and sit on the porch and play a game. The cafe itself is in an old house so it is really cool to walk around upstairs and appreciate the heritage building. Pastries are fresh, they have a wide and changing variety and breakfast for two is about $15, closer to $20 if there are too many things that look good!
Wheelchair accessibility: This cafe is sadly not wheelchair accessible to my knowledge. The door is up a set of three stairs.

Excellent coffee and croissants, the service is friendly without being intrusive. Several freshly prepared products as well as a good choice of cold meats. A French bistro atmosphere meets Quebecois terroir.

Small, friendly cafe. The products are very good. On the other hand, the gentleman's customer service leaves something to be desired. He is very unfriendly and almost lets us believe that we are bothering him. Too bad for the ladies and young girls who are part of the rest of the staff, who are very helpful and smiling.
