This place came highly recommended by friends but I was disappointed when I came here with my girlfriend for Valentine's day. The bread entrée I ordered was stale and dry almost like yesterday's bread, everything else we ordered was good but wasn't hot, just warm. Almost as if the food had been waiting on the counter for a good 10mins before coming out. Maybe I'd give it another chance eventually, but for a first time, I was quite disappointed...

Wow! Just left a wonderful dinner! Everything was delicious! Food was fantastic! I’ve been reading the reviews and they keep talking about the noise but honestly it was not that bad. It’s a comfortable and casual bistro and the noise level was on par with that. Not a quiet and peaceful restaurant instead a vibrant and delicious bistro. Not quiet but not so loud you cannot have a conversation! Highly recommended!

Légumes du moment en entrée, petites carottes fraîches multicolores servis avec fromage, humus le tout accompagné d’épices savoureuses digne d’un resto 5 étoiles. Plat principal, la joue de bœuf très bien apprêtée avait un goût impressionnant. Et en prime le propriétaire est super sympathique, alors je vous recommande cet endroit à 100 %.
Nous sommes allés la semaine dernière et nous avons été très déçu. Le mélange des saveurs de la joue de bœuf avec les accompagnements était très décevant. Le pierogi était tellement épais, dur et extrêmement lourd.La pâte à beigne du dessert, trop cuite, dure. Bref je n’aurais probablement pas servi ce dessert chez moi. Nous sommes restés perplexes car on nous l’avait recommandé fortement. Quand je regarde les commentaires, la majorité des commentaires date de 2023, donc est-ce qu’il y a eu des changements dans la cuisine? C’est à se questionner.
Un plaisir renouvelé à chaque expérience! Anne-marie et Philippe offrent un service hors-pair, se rappellent des allergies et sont très attentionnés. Chaudement recommandé!

My first experience, the food for most dishes was ok except the steak too fatty and tough. Soft and greasy fries. The fish was not impressive, there was barely any cauliflower puree, just enough to think there was some. The protein portion was okay and good, but not enough side dish. It's really very expensive for what it is. No comfort in this restaurant, small wooden chair, no air conditioning, large open door, but no draft. The toilets not very clean. I won't go back there.

Really too expensive compared to what's on the plate, $165 for a starter shared in 2, a paella for 2 people (portion far from generous) and a dessert also shared in 2, all not counting the wine because we had brought our own bottle, pleasant service but when we asked for bread the response was: "we don't have any more because it's the end of the service, that happens often", I find it very average as an answer.
I won't go back to this place that's for sure.

We were six guests and everyone loved our dishes. The only downside is it's very noisy. Forget this restaurant for a tête-à-tête.

It was a first experience at this place.It was good but not wow.Portion-wise, it’s still not very generous. No idea but far from accounting for the dollars spent that's for sure.However, the service was very good.Our experience was not impressive enough to return.

Very limited choice on the menu. Very average food although we ordered not too complicated meals like steak frittes…. The steak was tough as a boot sole on the outside and tender on the inside.The fries were way too salty and I like them salty….Before the bread was excellent with good butter. Not anymore.We've been there twice now and the food isn't up to par. Both times the restaurant was empty. So I am not the only one to draw this conclusion. Once an excellent restaurant, this is no longer the case.

Always a pleasure to come back to eat at Dur a Cuire. Beautiful atmosphere of people happy to discover new dishes and to be charmed by a restaurant like no other.One of the rare restaurants on the South Shore offering quality time in terms of its menu and service while being "bring your own wine", well done, you deserve to be encouraged more!
