We’re so glad we stopped by Bistro of the Captain! The seafood was absolutely fresh and delicious. It was the perfect mix of a cozy restaurant and a seafood market. We enjoyed a wonderful meal on site and also picked up some fresh seafood to take back to our Airbnb and cook later—it was such a treat. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the quality of the seafood really stood out. Highly recommend this spot if you love great seafood and want the option to take some home with you!

The shrimp rolls were pretty good, the shrimps were a little bland though. The fries were average. The service was good.

The food was fantastic. We shared a crab club and a chaudrée de fruit de mer that were both excellent. The crab club is the best club I have ever had! Service was very quick and staff very friendly. A worthwhile stop!

I love this place To eat a good shrimp rag Shrimp. Do you want some in vela, but I would have liked them to be lightly seasoned. Delicious fried clams!
On the fish side I bought turbo smoke, smoked cod and another one whose name I forget. I also bought potted martens and Bourgault. The smoked turbo is so good and I'm going to try making it on my smoker! Impeccable service!

What a find!!!! Was on a roadtrip through the Gaspésie area and came across this place in Matane, such great seafood at more than reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly and they also have a section where you can buy fresh seafood to go. All the live lobsters were caught by the owner and ranged in size from 1.5lbs to one lobster that was 10lbs. We have the lobster rolls, a lobster sandwich and the mussels and fries which were absolutely delicious. Plus the plate was massive, it must have had over 50 mussels and a large portion of fries for $13.50 taxes included!!! If I lived here, I would eat here every day! ?
