Most incredible dining experience I have had the luxury of having.
I will be returning 100%.
Side note: I brought my 2 month old aswell and the staff was so accommodating placing us at the end so I can bring my stroller inside.
Stop thinking and just get that reservation if you can
Really nice place. Smaller than I thought. The food was excellent. Cabane à sucre food turn in too high end meals. Les oreilles de crisse soufflé sont un régal. Your not going to be disappointed. Your reservation is 3 hours and takes 3 hours to finish every meal. There's an option for a special tourtière to be added to your service. However, we didn't take it and we were really full and the end.
Incredible experience! Just wow. The timing is on point , food is incredible, and the meals were perfectly aligned
Other than the food being amazing, I loved the spacing between each meal. It gave us enough time to enjoy each course without feeling too full.
The food was pretty good. Definitely a nice experience.
However the drinks are pretty expensive and sadly they charged us the price of two cider bottles when the waitress herself opened a 2nd bottle to pour our last glass. She took the bottle back with her after pouring the glass but she still charged us for two bottles. How does that make any sense?!
I would recommend checking your bill because there's no receipt and make sure they don't overcharge you. Literally robbing people in broad daylight. Making this experience overall a negative one. Will not go back. Especially with how you have to book 6 months in advance.
Still waiting for food
Food is great, no doubt about that. However, having visited for several years, I am disappointed in the evolution of the sugar season at PDC. Originally it felt like a true gem, off the beaten path and something special to be a part of. We thought of it like The Masters Tournament (golf reference) of dining experiences. That feeling is now lost, it feels much more commercial and generic overall (booking expereince right through the dining - the cabin was part of the original charm, but now feels more like a cost savings), and the service has become only sufficient (staff are all super nice, this is more the operation I'm reviewing and NOT the people) but is nothing special. You have plenty of choices for a wonderful family meal when in the Montreal area and this is a good one, but not great as I once considered it, from an experience perspective - again though, the food remains excellent. Is it worth the drive? No longer for our family, unfortunately.
Chef, your food makes me happy. Your staff were very friendly and welcoming too! I hope to return again soon. ❤️

Came here twice and was impressed both times by the food. They change the menu every year so you’re always in it for a nice surprise. Everything is delicious and well-prepared.
The service is sometimes slow but the staff are very kind.
Food was amazing but the logistics where awful. With a reservation made we still had to wait 30min in the cold to get our table. Service was very slow. Very friendly but very slow. We were seated close to the entrance and the cold was getting in every time the door opened. I wouldn't come back. Food is so good but the whole thing is just very inconvenient. We had a 8:30pm reservation, we left at midnight. You can see how slow everything was.
Had a lovely time with friends here last night.
The food was great; not quite fine-dining, but definitely upscale compared to your average sugar shack, fusing traditional cabane dishes with a lot of French influence, fois gras and pithivier and millefeulle etc.
Service was very friendly (even to our mostly-anglophone group), and the pacing of the meal was great. Ultimately they grouped the dishes into four courses - 2x amuse-bouche, 3x appetizer, 4x main course, 4x dessert - with a good amount of time between each set of dishes.
Be prepared to wait outside for a while. We booked for 8:30pm but were not seated until 9:10pm. I don't really blame the cabane for this - like, what are they going to do, order other guests to get out? - but you'll want to have plenty of time. In the winter, wrap up warm; they had a fire going and were selling hot cider.
Many reviews mentioned bringing takeout containers. Most of the dishes are served in the centre of the table and shared, so the amount of leftovers will depend on your group size. Our group of 10 finished everything comfortably, with enough for everyone to try a bit of every dish but no leftovers. If you're just a group of 2 then the takeout containers will be more useful.
We were a party of 4 last night weathered the snowstorm to be deeply disappointed in the overall menu - the first course was the fois gras which was the highlight of the meal - unfortunately - way too small of a portion - minuscule cones - the egg and seafood dish did not make sense - frozen shrimp and bean combination not the best - the duck and sausage en croute was very good - portion 1/2 a small pie - ridiculous for 4 people - a whole pie would have made more sense - we have heard about this place for years - it seems that the quality and the portion sizes have diminished over the years - it is a money grab - the shack cider was borderline vinegar - at $50 a bottle - overall a real waste will never return again - Martin Picard is clearly in it to just make money basing his success on past reputation - fortunately this will catch up to him - people are not stupid
For over $700 spent for 4 people - terrible value for what we received
Yes yes yes. My favourite dining experience.
My husband and I came a few years ago during the winter and recently went for their autumn harvest menu. Each time, we’ve been so blown away by the creativity, taste, service and vibe. Pace yourself, it’s a lot of food.
