La Brasserie des Mercenaires Culinaires

We visited this establishment for dinner based on its positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. The dishes we ordered were excessively oily and paired with questionable sauces. The filet mignon was so heavily peppered that it overwhelmed any other flavor, while two tiny pieces of venison medallions were served with vegetables submerged in an overly sour sauce and oil. The French onion soup contained more oil than broth. Something I have never encountered before.
Overall, the food was extremely disappointing. We also noticed that most other diners were eating burgers for dinner, which initially struck us as unusual but ultimately made sense given our experience. Regrettably, we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Great find in the St-Jovite village. Very unassuming look from the outside in a small strip mall. But everything else about the place is exceptional. The decor is very chic. The staff was very friendly and the service was amazing. And the food... excellent, and a great value for the price. The steak and fries were delicious, as was the burger (which is deluxe and includes real foie gras). The wild mushroom appetizer was also delicious.

The only restaurant we come to eat at in St Jovite!

Their lunch menu is fantastic value. Even the kids menu is so thoughtful and varied. My two young children have devoured the home made tagliatelle bolognese, the steak, and eaten from the main menu.

My husband and I also make an effort to come for a date night. The wine menu has some unique and varied options. The fact that the butcher shop is attached means you know you’re getting exceptional meat selection. Save space for the pouding chomeur!!

Stopped by at friends recommendation for some meat and found they had a large frozen food freshly made section. The lasagna jumped out at me. We grabbed a couple Caesar Salad from the adjoining restaurant that had scrumptious dressing. The frozen meal was advised to cook at 350 for 90 minutes and I gave it another 30 at 375 when that was still cold in the middle, however, when it was done, it was perfection.
