I called 10min before asked if terrace seating availability. And told them we were in construction cloths. They not only accepted us with welcome feeling but sat us down on the terrace. Food was unbelievably delicious. The chicken, the shrimp. Dessert. still makes my mouth water thinking about it. Great experience. In and out perfect for lunch. Thank you to are waiter Louis

We came in with friends who had been here before and recommended it. We asked very politely if there were English menus — and were met with immediate irritation from the owner at the cash. No welcome, no courtesy, just a sour attitude.
We then waited over 45 minutes for our food, while multiple tables who arrived after us were served first. When we kindly asked why the delay, the owner got furious and told us we could leave — because he “has two doors” we can use. He claimed we weren’t real customers because he didn’t recognize us. Our friends had been there several times, and even they were stunned.
We eat out often and have never been treated so rudely. We ended up leaving before even getting our meals.
Unless you're a regular or enjoy being disrespected, I’d strongly recommend skipping Galo. There are far better restaurants that actually care about their customers.

We were looking forward to this one! Pork and chorizo were excellent. However, the chicken was dry, bland, overcooked. Fries were great.
No drinks menu, so when the bill came I was surprise to see they actually charge 15$ for a glass of white wine (The bottle was a Catarina, the bottle is 15$ at the SAQ).
The service was disappointing - two overworked waiters were constantly running around, clearly stressed. They were kind, but they couldn't take the time to give the service you'd expect. Owner seemed very friendly.
So yes, overall I get that this is a popular spot but I can't say I recommend it.

We got to try a bit of everything at Galo by ordering the Grillade de Viande—a great choice for sharing. The waiter suggested adding lamb to the platter, which was a nice option. All the meats were well-grilled and tasty. The staff was friendly, even though they were clearly busy (which makes sense on a Friday night). Overall, a solid spot for Portuguese barbecue.

Good food, they have a brisk takeout business which is good to see. The dine-in experience was less enjoyable due to there being limited space and wanting to fit as many people as possible.
Wheelchair accessibility: Small dining area inside. I think for wheelchair accessibility, you would want to call ahead and eat outdoors if possible.
