I dined at your restaurant and, regrettably, encountered an unsatisfactory level of service. Despite the prolonged wait time of 45 minutes for my food, I chose to leave a tip of 10%. However, my attempt to provide feedback was met with an unexpected and unprofessional response from your waitstaff. One of your waiters approached me to inquire about the tip amount and, in a rather discourteous manner, suggested that I refrain from returning to the restaurant or risk experiencing even longer wait times in the future. Subsequently, when I attempted to discuss the matter with the manager, I was impeded by another waiter who RAISED HIS VOICE and engaged in confrontational behaviour. I believe it is essential to highlight that I do not typically feel compelled to explain my tipping decisions. Nevertheless, I provided an explanation in this instance, only to be met with further hostility. The overall tone of the interaction was VERY RUDE and left me feeling unwelcome. I have considered myself a regular customer and have consistently enjoyed the food there. If you plan on dining there, ensure to leave a tip of at least 15% (even if you are not happy with the food or service) to avoid being approached by the staff in a very rude and unprofessional way. Given today’s encounter, this was my last time dining at this restaurant.
My wife is MSG intolerant with reactions within 5 minutes and that lasts a few hours. Sadly, most Asian restaurants add MSG to their food to "enhance " unami flavours and keep food fresh. She had dined here before (soup & spring rolls) and experienced zero affect, suggesting zero MSG. Finally a good Asian restaurant in our neighbourhood. We arrived with our host to a beautiful restaurant, packed with dinner guests, were quickly seated. The wine order arrived quickly. My wife ordered Japanese raviolis and Zento salad, both to share with me. Our host ordered separately. The salads arrived but we then had to order a side plate for sharing. The next entrees arrived after plates were removed but my side plate was left in front of me to be used for the next sharing course. Upon removing the 2nd course, the waiter tipped my side plate and spilled the remains of the Japanese ravioli sauce on my lap. After asking for a wet towel the waiter complied. The main courses arrived, my salmon teryaki was cooked medium after I had asked for rare. The waiter suggested a replacement; I complied and a new plate was brought within minutes and this time the salmon was cooked to perfection. The problem however is that this dish is served on a hotplate and as such, cooks while you eat. By the end, the salmon is slightly over-cooked, albeit raw when it arrived. At this stage, the rating was between 2 & 3, but we would return because the ambiance was very good. The kicker came when my wife had to rush to the washroom, and again upon arrival at home. Without a doubt, she had experienced another MSG attack either from the raviolis or the ginger chicken. Sadly, this made the experience even more negative and sadly we are still in search of a local Asian restaurant without MSG.
I used to order once a week throughout the pandemic. For 2y. Once a week. Delivery was great, pickup on time was too. There hasn't been a price list online for I don't know how long. I asked last month when it would be updated. "Soon". What kind of business acumen is that. "Just ask". If I'm ordering delivery, let me spend an hour and have you tell me the cost of everything on the menu. Each week, just in case the foot is heavier on the scale this week.... Sushi perrot has it. Guess I'll let my fingers do the walking...
We visited this restaurant on father's day, my 2 daughters, my lady friend and I. The reception was excellent and quick. The service was also extremely good, pleasant and useful. The food was fresh and of great quality. Naturally, for sushi to be fresh, it takes preparation time. Therefore it does take a bit of time to get served. I would qualify this as slow food, the price to pay for fresh sushi! The washrooms were spotless, a good sign of careful and rigorous hygiene. I recommend this restaurant highly for sushi lovers.
fast and good
Food was great first time there. When the bill came I new that the first dinner was $23.00 and was charged $24.00 the waitress said covid tax. Well for being dishonest we will never be back.. should have been honest up front.
Great food, great service! Souki is the best server and he makes his own best plate, named after him!
This was our first visit to a restaurant in 4 months following the easing of the CoVid restrictions, and it was an excellent choice. There is good spacing and separators between tables and we felt quite comfortable for the most. And the food was amazing. One of the best miso soups ever to start, and then an excellent assorted sushi platter for me and a komodo dragon for my wife. The latter (see picture) is a delight to the senses and a must for lovers of seafood. Service was very friendly, but understandably a mite slower than usual because of the CoVid procedures in place. Prices were quite reasonable given the quality.
