Stopped by our Ormstown relatives and decided to head over to their local pub for dinner and so thankful we did.......what an awesome tavern! Great vibe and venue. It was very busy so reservation a must on weekends. Our superb server (the lovely Katie) was not fazed by making drinks and serving us being seated at the bar 😀 even though the place was hopping! Food was outstanding with my short rib pastrami and smashed potatoes being out-of-this-world and lamb (surf and turf)...
Went in without expectations, the place looks very ordinary from the street; but the menu was intriguing and more exciting that the greasy spoon up the street. Good move. The food was really, really good. Try the fried oyster mushrooms and the maple bacon onion rings! I had the safran chicken for the main course and it was perfectly cooked and so flavourful. Highly recommended.
If you have the absolute privilege of being served by Summer, the incredible food is just the cherry on top at that point. Her sunny personality made the whole meal experience that much better. We tried the Zucchini Blossom special along with the fabulous whipped goat cheese starter. Can’t recommend enough!
