I was really disappointed with the tipping policy here. In Quebec, automatic gratuity is usually added for large groups (6+ people), which makes sense since it requires more work from the staff. However, this restaurant charges an automatic tip of 15–20% no matter the size of your group, even for just two people.

I believe in tipping fairly for good service, but forcing this charge on a small table feels unfair and not in line with common practice. It left me with a negative impression and makes me hesitant or disinclined to return.
Not to forget the cold reception from the hostess/waitress. Got the feeling she was annoyed and took it out on us. seated us in a tight corner which would seat 4 and that was the only option available.

Really great sushi, has all you can eat (AYCE) with plenty of great offerings, service is really great, restaurant is clean, and portions aren’t overly large for AYCE. Food is served quickly and empty plates are taken away before you even notice.

This might sound weird, but to be honest, the food was good. I just decided not to leave a tip this time. The waitress went to tell her manager, and he came to me to explain that here in Canada, we give tips, and that I should give them 30%.
Maybe he assumed I wasn't Canadian (because of my hijab, for example), or maybe it was just a way to say things. I replied politely, but he kept insisting, explaining that this way everyone would be happy.
I understand the importance of tipping, but if someone doesn't leave one, there shouldn't be a confrontation. We should normalize not tipping.

A few months ago we discovered taketa and loved it. As of lately the service and quality has gone downhill. If you go after 6:30pm, the service is very slow and it takes up to 30 mins to get one small dish… they keep items on that menu that they don’t have anymore and then don’t inform customers. We get half of the quantity we ordered even though it’s supposed to be all you can eat. And then it takes 30 mins to get the bill. They need more staff and to update the menu. Won’t be going back 😢

Wow ... there is a nice choices of sushi, soups and fried food. The food was delicious and the service was fast and efficient. Located right across RONA on St-Charles

The worst all you can eat I’ve ever been. From the cold and careless staff to the soggy, burnt and unappetizing food, it has truly been an awful experience. Really regret wasting my money and coming here instead of all the other options available nearby.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The staff were extremely cold and unwelcoming from the moment we walked in. The service was inattentive and it felt like we were bothering them just by being there.
As for the food, completely bland and tasteless. Nothing stood out, and everything felt like it was made without care.
Highly not recommended, definitely not worth your time or money.

Fresh rolls, fast & friendly service, comfy big tables, and it wasn’t too crowded. Plus, the ice cream selection? So good. Definitely going back!

Bro really asked for more tips, some of the sushi’s were a bit off and the soy sauce too or else the rest was good, the service too. Until at the end i payed and he made a comment about me not tipping enough, then i just tipped him again, really put me on the spot there 🤷🏽‍♂️

We’ve been there before and food was good. But went there once at 9:30, and it says they close at 10:30. We went in and refused to serve us because “the kitchen closed”. Also you can feel that the place wasn’t cold enough to serve raw fish, there was definitely a problem with the AC.

THE QUALITYYYYYYYYY!!!! This place is AMAZING. I’ve been a regular for a few years and they offer the best quality every single time. By far the best all you can eat sushi restaurant I’ve been to. The fish is always fresh, the service is quick, the menu has a large variety, the avocados are always ripe, the fish to rice ratio is perfect, etc. Didn’t realise how good I had it here until I tried another all you can eat.
