McNiven’s was a great first stop for me and my family after arriving to Newfoundland. The food was incredible and the fish was fresh. We were very pleased with the service by our waiter, Noah and the owner David. They were both very personable, efficient, and attentive. On behalf of myself and my family we are so happy we picked McNiven’s as our first stop in NL!

We arrived and found the place was 18+. Which was actually fine because it was a really nice evening to sit on the patio. The service was friendly. I got the club sandwich, which wasn't particularly good. The chicken was very dry and overcooked, and part of it tasted somewhat off. I'm pretty sure the bacon was the microwave kind like ready crisp or whatever it's called. As well, the sandwich was made on wonder bread. I suspect sandwiches in Ireland are made with much better ingredients.

Exactly what you'd expect at an Irish pub. Great food, service and beer.

Cozy atmosphere with great vibes! The food was excellent, especially the burger and Caesar salad. They also had a really cool live band playing.

Very nice pub. The food is immaculate and delicious. The drinks are also very good. The ambiance was so nice too. There was live music and this first visit absolutely blew me off. Charming!

Has a nice and welcoming vibe, pretty much what you’d expect from McKibbin’s. The food, however, was really disappointing. We tried their poutine and onion soup (probably not great choices in an Irish pub, but still).

Very good food, especially their Jambalaya special on Tuesdays. Friendly and professional service and a good ambiance. My only concern is that the permanent (a la carte) food menu could have some more variety.

Sign above the door says “Must be 21 to enter”, couldn’t enjoy a family meal unfortunately.

The food was ok, the service was better, but the atmosphere didn’t have the friendly, cozy pub vibe I expected.
