We had our Christmas dinner here yesterday and it was such a great experience! The atmosphere is so cozy and comfortable and our wonderful waiter Sam made us feel so welcome. The food is traditional and so delicious! We ordered "Grandma's Treat" which had meatballs, vegetables and the most delicious meat pie. I highly recommend if you're in the area and looking to scratch that home-cooking itch!

Early Dec2024 When in the historical city of Quebec one would also need to try out its historical and local cuisine set within one of its equally historical structures.
The food consists of French Canadian fare with some mains dealing with game dishes while others lean to French classical type of offerings.
The servers will be able to assist you in any inquiries if needed.
The place is much like a homestead or village house full of visual displays, with the feel of part inn and part museum. Expect cozy bit tight surroundings.
Truly an experience in itself.
Ideal for small groups and couples.

We took the set lunch . The onion soup is too salty, we asked to add some hot water. The fries is overfried. The sauce with the pork tenderloin is too strong. The meat is too tough.

As everyone else has said— the lunch deal was amazing (the fact that it includes a beer is even better). The food was fantastic and we tried meals and flavors we’ve never had before. Highly recommend!

I visited because I wanted to eat Quebec's home-cooked food during Christmas. Even though I went alone, it was really nice that they treated me very kindly! Haha.
I had it for dinner and had an appetizer, main dish, dessert, and wine as a course, and it came to about $75 excluding tip!!!
The food you recommended was really delicious, but I left it out because I have a short appetite. Next time I come to Quebec, I want to try other foods too!😄

The food was really good that they recommended, but I had a small appetite, so I left it behind. (Sorry😂) I want to eat other food when I come to Quebec again next time!😄

By far the best restaurant we’ve been to in Quebec. The service was phenomenal. We went in without a reservation on a Monday afternoon and they had our table ready in 5 minutes. The place was full yet they were able to get us in quickly!
The food is awesome. Typical quebecois cuisine. They offer a CAD 39 per person menu that includes a glass of wine, an appetizer, main course and dessert. It was a lot of food! And all of it tasted great!
Definitely recommended!

It was only ok. The maple syrup pie was delicious though.

Boring, Overpriced, and Rude—these three words perfectly summarize my dining experience. Let me break it down:
First, the food. The flavors were so ordinary that calling them “boring” feels generous. Most dishes desperately needed seasoning, they actually reminded me of something you’d find at a school cafeteria.
Then the prices. For such mediocre flavors, the cost was anything but reasonable. It’s like they took the blandness and thought, “You know what this needs? A premium price tag.”
Third, the service. Our server, who did exactly the bare minimum required of her job, insisted that we must tip 25%—because apparently, the POS machine’s lowest suggested tip wasn’t a suggestion but a law. And she demanded this in the rudest, most absurdly confrontational way possible. Truly, a comedy show masquerading as customer service.
In conclusion, considering the restaurant’s location, this place screams “tourist trap.” Unless you have an insatiable curiosity for overpriced, uninspired food served with a side of attitude, do yourself a favor and stay away.

We had an amazing three course meal with the selection of a beer or glass of wine for an amazing price of 39.50 if ordered before 5pm. This is the place to dine in old Quebec City where the food is delicious & decor is very warm & cozy & the service is welcoming. Great vegetarian & vegan options and vast meat choices. This restaurant will be our go to place when visiting this historic city. Very close to the chateau Frontenac on the same street - just look for the restaurant with the red roof.

Cozy atmosphere, home-cooked meals and great service in the heart of the old city. Really enjoyed the table haute ($40 and up), which included a glass of wine, starter, Chef’s Inspiration (Christmas dinner with all the fixings) and the best bread pudding I’ve ever tasted.
