Great little spot right on the main walking route. Only capacity for maybe 30 seats. We had the two person window table. We had great service, it was warm and cozy.It was New years eve and we were eating later, so this was a late lunch. I had the Wild Boar egg rolls as an Appitizer . . . They were great, hard to describe the taste, similar to roast beef. It came with a little salad which complimented nicely. My wife had the French Onion soup, which seemed to be a house favorite. A little more cheese would have made this even better. For mains we had the Mushroom Ravioli which was great, lots of sauce. I had the Fish and chips, the fish was Cod, very moist and very little batter which is my preference and more creamy salad. It was just what I required before a quick NYE nap.We will be back.

Elisa was my waitress this evening. Her magnetic personality immediately made an impression on me. The courtesy and efficiency were outstanding as well. And let’s talk about the food . . . AMAZING! I started off with snail stew which was so good that I could have made a meal out of that alone! You know it’s good when you can’t wait to go back so that you can get it again!!! Then the fish & chips arrived to the table . . . Another terrific choice! I will most definitely make this my “Go To” restaurant whenever I’m visiting my favorite Canadian city! Thanks Elisa and thanks Bistro Sous Le Fort for making this vacation one of my best!!!

We made reservations which gave an automatic email giving a mismatched day of the week and date of the month. They called us to clarify. We were ready to eat about an hour before our reservation and they pointed to a table and said, this is your table. I had the Salmon and loved it. The sangria was delish and potent. My mother had poutine and wished she had chosen better. Great atmosphere!

We had a wonderful evening in this cozy bistro in the historic lower town. The food was terrific. We particularly enjoyed the steak frites and delicious french onion soup. The desserts were amazing and we highly recommend the maple cake. We enjoyed a wonderful homemade warm cidre as well. Our server was very friendly. We highly recommend this bistro. There are only a small number of tables so we recommend that you call ahead for a reservation.

Located in the picturesque, quaint district of Petit Champlain, you can take a stroll before or after enjoying a delicious meal here. Bistro Sous le Fort is an amazing little restaurant that just exudes the warmth and goodness of mom's kitchen with its homey charm. We started out with some buttery snail stew. Lusciously good. For our main dishes, we ordered the sweetbreads; of which I've never had and was curious, but still a little wary. It was remarkable!! Beautifully prepared with the most delightful gravy I've ever had. We also ordered the duck confit dish and it was delightful too. The food was well paced. The service was great. This is a must if you're ever in Old Quebec City.

Delicious food and great service, beautiful little gem of a place! Very welcoming ambience and service was outstanding. Shrimp tempura and French Onion Soup was delicious, the little side salad and dressing was so fresh and tasty. We also loved our Fish n Chips and Mushroom Ravioli entrees. I loved this place, it was my favorite dining experience of our trip.

My son happened to make a reservation here and he couldn’t meet us due to being under the weather. The atmosphere was beautiful, the food simply delicious and the service was INCREDIBLE. The gentleman who was working out front was so friendly and welcoming. Wish we knew his name, just can’t say enough about his level of service which is very rare. This was simply an incredible dining experience and we will definitely be going back when we return to Quebec City.

We ate here in November of 2021 and came back again in November of 2022 as we liked it that much. I had steak and frites and French onion soup. My wife had a warm chicken salad and so did my sister in law and they thought it was excellent. My brother in law had an elk burger with French onion soup and it too was excellent. Both couples shared the maple syrup cake and oh my was it good. The waitress that served us was very friendly and in fact after we spoke for awhile she recalled our visit last year. Definitely recommend eating there. I’d suggest a reservation as it is a small restaurant with seating only for 32 or so?

We ate here three nights because of the food, staff and the laidback atmosphere. We talked with fellow diners each night and had a great time with everyone.

We were very fortunate to have been seated at Bistro Sous le Fort in Old Quebec. Our gracious thanks to our server Caroline and Elisa to accommodate 4 of us. Absolutely a wonderful experience, the food was great, the service was even better, and the ambiance was perfect. Caroline was so awesome. All of us in the restaurant were made to feel like family and old friends. From far away travelers to newlyweds to regular customers, Caroline did a wonderful job of interacting and taking care of us all. The food was prepared perfectly and timely. A must place to eat when visiting Old Quebec. Reservations are highly recommended for this great little find of a Restaurant.

It was time for dinner ashore near the end of our cruise and we were looking for a good dinner. A whole in the wall type of location and provided the right meal just when needed. Not expecting much, we were pleasantly surprised. The onion soup was terrific, as were other dishes we ordered. Only drawbacks, tiny and no advance reservations.

Great food, service, atmosphere and overall experience. The food is delicious, and well worth the price with a variety of options. I opted to have to appetizers for dinner and my husband had the duck and elk meal and we finished every bite. This is a busy spot so a reservation is recommended.
