I just found a note I wrote to myself to write a review for Pape Georges tres Bien. We went to Quebec for our honeymoon months ago. This was the first place we went and we had soup and a charcuterie board and they were both wonderful. The atmosphere is so comfortable and friendly. The food was high quality ingredients. We went back on our last day in town we liked it so much.

Old quebec location lower level of quartier petit Champlain. Great old pub atmosphere. Shared the beer sausage hot dog with classic routine.

Cute little place, only if you're interested in drinking. Do not eat here unless you're drunk. We had the fish and chips and the bavette and frites. Two different orders and both fries dishes were extremely over salted. The fish and dough weren't fully cooked (dough was still raw), and the bavette was probably cooked in the microwave. For the same cost, go eat at Le Lapin Saute and you'll have an elevated experience.

Sadly had to give this place a 2 star rating. Service was nice but not a good dining experience. Mussels were cooked from frozen, gritty and over salted, soup was served cold and when mentioned to the server the soup was reheated in the microwave, I could tell because the lobster in the soup was gummy and chewy afterwards. This is pub style dining and not good pub food. I went based on the 4.4 star reviews and it's definitely not worthy of the rating, I've cooked better food at home. Photos of the interior and food don't match the actual experience. Buyer beware...

Our party of four had lunch at Le Pape Georges and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We asked our server for recommendations and she did not disappoint the fish and chips were delicious and perfectly cooked. The rest of the table had the octoberfest hot dog, wings, and the beef, all of which were just as impressive.
Beyond the great food, the venue itself has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. There’s also a very nice selection of beers that paired perfectly with our meals.
Highly recommend this spot for both the quality of the food and the overall experience. We’ll definitely be returning!

A very cool restaurant in a great location. The menu is simple, with just the right number of options — and everything we tried was delicious.
We had the French onion soup, the smoked meat sandwich, and a salad. All were excellent.
Big thanks to Vincent, who helped us choose our food and drinks since the menu is only in French. His recommendations were spot on!
