Had the duck poutine and French onion soup at the cafe and they were both great, especially the soup! Great service, cozy atmosphere, and cool artwork for sale as the table toppers.
The hotel is a bit of a walk from the Old Town, but still within walking distance and also easy to reach by car or taxi. There are plenty of restaurants nearby as well.
The room was very clean, but I found it not bright enough — you need to rely on the decorative lamps inside for proper lighting. The host was really kind and helpful. We arrived earlier than check-in time, and they let us store our luggage.
However, I wouldn’t recommend this place for elderly...
Cafe Krieghoff is an excellent place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. I had the traditional poutine and it was delectable. The cheese curds were real and the Demi-glaze brown gravy was very tasty. Service was expedient, but not too much. All the wait staff were friendly and most spoke English and French.
