Bustling yet cozy with great snack food and service. Located in Old Quebec it is a great way to quicklt recharge or spend longer and catchup with friends and family. They even made fancy designs in my childrens' hot chocolate!

Good morning breakfast for a cup of nice coffee and waffle.
What a beautiful place to visit no matter you want to spend 15-25 minutes to stay for breakfast.
Fresh store made coffee and 🥐 croissants for your morning meal to break a new moment.
Very friendly service to each customer and explain clearly even you don’t speak French.
What a lovely place to visit.

First meal after arriving in Quebec - vanilla latte and a croissant - fantastic - and the staff as well, outgoing and polite. Will be back ...

Just the right spot to sit down, sip a good coffee and listen to the street performance. The red velvet macaron was the perfect accompaniment to elevate the boldness of the cappuccino. My wife very much enjoyed her dragon pearl tea which I could smell the floral aroma from across the table.
Several visits for coffee and breakfast, week of September 1st, 2025 as this was a convenient location from our hotel. As with the other locations, always great to visit. Exceptional coffee, teas, pastries and sandwiches. Staff friendly, professional and helpful. Outdoor seasonal seating, washrooms and good street views. Good to work at tables.

Great cafe with a variety of coffee, sandwiches, quiches and desserts. I enjoyed the Ham and Bacon quiche, a breakfast bagel and a chocolate earthquake cake, the rest of the family enjoyed their meals as well. We visited for breakfast and dinner the following evening.

Visiting from Toronto. My first experience at Smith café in St.Jean & the other location in the village.
Went at around 8 am to have coffee and croissant 🥐 and it did not disappoint. The service was 'impeccable'
Very busy already at that time. The lady who helped us ' young blond hair' responded in English when she realized we're trying to speak French with difficulty 🫣, she was very nice and friendly, she offered to heat up the croissant. The cafe vibe was so beautiful, the decor, the details, everything so charming!
We stayed in Quebec city for 2 nights. The only mistake we did was that we didn't go their the first day. We tried a well known bakery establishment on the same street. And it was very disappointing. Overrated I think.
So happy we were able to discover Smith cafe in 2 locations on our last day we stayed there.
Will be only going only to La Maison Smith when we visit Quebec city again 🤍

The coffee was amazing. Absolutely delicious matcha chai latte and americano. However, the croissants were not fresh in the sense that they made the crunchy noise when touched. They were super soft. Chocolate croissant had a stick of chocolate inside.
