The French Onion Soup was good, so rich in flavor. The Beef Cheek was incredibly tender, you barely needed to chew it. Paired with the sauce and mashed potatoes, it was perfect. We added foie gras as an extra. While I’m not a fan of foie gras in general, my friend loved it. The server recommended the parfait glacé for dessert, which was also very delicious. We also ordered the poire salamandre as an extra, and it paired beautifully. The vibe was great, and our server was super nice! Highly recommended.

Family dinner on a chilly Sunday evening in December….

-speed of dishes coming out, we are told that there are 7 tuna left, which leads us to assume that many plates are prepared in advance and put in the fridge.

- it goes (too) quickly, we feel that the restaurant is in a big turnover of customers which harms the atmosphere a little (a lot).

- good to very average food, but nothing memorable. Very average onion soup, tangy taste that quickly hits the heart. Melting beef cheek, but few accompaniments, good two-way black pudding, good fries.

- expensive beer, $14.50 for a pint of Boréale from the northeast.

We tried it, we probably won't go back.

We booked this restaurant for 7 on December 24th. No regrets. A more than perfect welcome. A top bistro atmosphere. Dishes with incredible flavors, from bison, to beef, to beef cheek...our taste buds were in awe. The same goes for desserts.

The food is exceptional. I always enjoy going to a restaurant and having something that would be next to impossible to prepare at home, and Chez Boulay is just such a restaurant! I also appreciate the seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The service is very friendly and professional. The atmosphere is pleasant with a moderate to low noise level. Don't miss enjoying this restaurant!
