Phenomenal food with a great focus on seafood and creative dishes. Started with their panegroni, probably the best negroni riff I’ve ever had. I then had the fried oysters in buffalo sauce and blue cheese cream to start, followed by the fish of the day; walleye, in a sea urchin crème. Outstanding service, strongly recommend.

Came here for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised – it’s pretty solid overall! The highlight was definitely the omelette, made with sea urchin (uni) sauce that gives it this incredible briny, oceanic depth while keeping the eggs super creamy and soft. And the kind of warm, friendly service.

I enjoyed learning le hobbit - the restaurant has a great vibe, great lighting, nice and warm with a romantic setting. perfect for watching the snowfall outside. the food was great - our table loved the pork, I ordered the duck but they'd ran out so we got offered veal instead.
great meal and would recommend for a nice atmospheric meal in Quebec.

I went there to try their brunch. I think the food was okay; it was definitively very creative and well presented but maybe not for me. It somehow started feeling heavy after a few bites. Overall, it is a great place staff are very friendly and nice, the place is cute.

One of the best breakfasts our group has ever had. Not a single note on how to improve. We got to sit by the cozy fireplace and the staff was friendly and helpful.

My husband and I ate here while visiting Quebec and it was fabulous! The food was delicious and our servers were extremely helpful and friendly. We especially enjoyed the fried oysters with the buffalo sauce. I had the Catch of the Day and my husband had the smoked and seared pork loin. Both were excellent. For dessert, we had the date cake with the caramel sauce. The caramel sauce was to die for!!! We’d highly recommend this restaurant and we will eat here again when we visit Quebec.

Le Hobbit was just a a few blocks away from where we were staying, and we are glad we went there first. The place is quite cozy, the people are great, and the food was pretty great too, although a bit too salty. We tried the Soup of the Day - which was a tomato soup with some croutons and a bit of cream cheese - and a Focaccia.
One of the staff members spoke Spanish, which helped a lot as my traveling partner only spoke Spanish too. They also let us stay for a few hours while we waited for our AirBnB to clean up so we could check-in. No questions asked.

Le Hobbit is a one-Michelin-star restaurant (2025) conveniently located, which is why I decided to try it for dinner. I ordered two appetizers and two main courses, and overall the flavors were well balanced and very enjoyable.
The foie gras terrine with brioche, sunflower seed butter, and blueberry–lavender jam was interesting and unique. I especially loved the lavender jam, but at $14.50 for two small slices of bread, it felt overpriced and not particularly worth it.
The second appetizer, fried oysters in a homemade buffalo-style sauce with dill pickles, blue cheese and yogurt espuma, and fresh cucumber, was visually appealing and offered an unusual yet refreshing combination of flavors, though the oysters themselves were on the smaller side.
For mains, the seared catch of the day with butternut squash was excellent. Every element on the plate worked beautifully together—the fish was fresh and not fishy at all, the squash sauce was rich and comforting, and the crispy fried onions added a very satisfying texture.
The highlight of the evening was the seared duck breast. The presentation was elegant and the flavors were great; the only minor downside was that the duck was slightly chewier than expected.
Overall, Le Hobbit is definitely worth trying when visiting Quebec City. I highly recommend both their dinner and breakfast menus.

I really want this to come off as constructive criticism.
This place has wonderful potential. It was very cold on the side with no fire place. I also want everyone to understand that I know this is a gourmet, not gourmand style restaurant.
So,
I took my wife to the Hobbit for the renowned blood pudding. Unfortunately they served her raviolis in astonishingly salty base. The ravioli was supposed to be stuffed with blood pudding. It was unfortunately not…many had next to nothing inside them.
I ordered the duck breast. It was not very tender and was accompanied by…. Wait for it …
5 cabbage leafs.
And our waitress… hello to the weirdo who took our order and terrible service the entire meal. The server that brought the plates was very good.
I hope our next visit will be a memorable one.
This time we’ll have to erase it from our memories.
Incredible! Food, service and environment were all the best I’ve had had in a long time, especially for a restaurant in this price range.
