We recently enjoyed a delightful Christmas Eve dinner for four, featuring exquisite Italian fare from Il Teatro. We wanted a place that was open on the eve of a holiday and one with a great atmosphere to celebrate the Xmas holiday. The risotto foie gras and cappelletti were absolutely amazing and come highly recommended. The service was impeccable, making the entire evening a truly memorable experience.
I would like to express my great disappointment with the quality of service we received during our visit to your restaurant on December 23, 2024, at 8 p.m. In particular, the attitude of the manager at the entrance was shocking. Here are the problems encountered: 1. As soon as we arrived, we were seated at a table located in the corner, near the door, even though several other tables were available. When I asked to change tables, the response was aggressive and unprofessional. 2. When choosing our dishes, the manager quickly took the menus out of our hands even though we had not yet finished our choice. 3. No smile or special attention was given to my child, whether to greet him or respond to a request. 4. When she brought our birthday cake, it was placed on the table for just a few seconds before being removed without our consent to take photos.
His behavior was constantly cold and unpleasant which ruined our experience. Having visited many restaurants around the world, I have never been confronted with such poor and aggressive reception.
In conclusion, this will unfortunately be my first and last visit to your establishment, and I will not recommend it to my loved ones.

Cold and dry food, I took cannelloni and very disappointing. As for the pasta plan with clams, also very disappointing, 3 clams for 33. Not worth the price. We will not go back

Reservation at 6 p.m. Expedited service for a Sunday evening…. After dinner, waitress asks if we want to see the dessert menu... no. No digestives or anything else offered. She comes back 2 minutes later with the bill without saying a word and 2 minutes later with the Interac machine. We hadn't finished our last glass of wine yet. So, at 7:15 p.m. bye bye. For a cool $320. Too bad, the food was excellent.

Superb decor, typical Italian restaurant atmosphere where people laugh and talk, ideal location and breathtaking view. The beef tataki is quite simply the best I have eaten, we even ordered a second one out of greed, the veal chop (photo) was sublime. Let yourself be guided by your server, he knows what he is talking about. I would have given 6 or 7 stars for the service if it had been possible, really above average. Il Teatro is a jewel of Quebec City, I recommend without hesitation to foodies looking for authenticity!! We will come back with pleasure!!
