I always opt for the nigiris and their chef's specialties there. Fish is super fresh and the rice is made with such care.

To date, it's the best sushi I've enjoyed in Québec City, with fresh, succulent cuts of fish and seafood and creatively constructed rolls. The Izakaya options we tried - tuna tataki and chicken katsu - were also delicious. The sake and dessert options are excellent, as was the service. Highly recommended!

We have been sushi lovers for over 30 years. Chef Phong's cuisine is exceptional. I highly recommend the tasting menu with wine pairing. You have to slightly ignore the atmosphere of the gourmet district, which is a bit noisy and generic. The service, although sometimes a little awkward, is very warm. But the taste experience goes beyond the decor. Lovers of sushi and Japanese cuisine, this place is a must. A first in more than 35 years of tastings in Japanese restaurants: I had to ask for a spoon to extend my tasting of the sauces once the sashimi and makis were finished. 5 stars!

We chose to have the omakase and it was delicious! The service is excellent and so is the food. The cocktails are also delicious! The nigiri are incredible, it's without a doubt the best sushi I've eaten in my life! It’s a great experience and we will return!

Maybe we are not connoisseurs enough to appreciate fine Japanese cuisine. Several dishes were too different and in terms of “taste” we didn’t know at all where to place ourselves between pleasure and incomprehension. Personally, I won't go back but if you're looking for the pinnacle of Japanese exoticism Kaiji would be perfect for you.

In terms of service, nothing to complain about, everything was perfect and the time between courses allows for discussion and appreciation of the dishes. We had more limited time and asked to adapt everything and the service was superb.

Atmosphere-wise it's good but it's not as calm as I expected. The restaurant is located among lots of restaurants (a little apart). I would have liked some light music which would transport us even more into the Japanese world rather than the noise coming from other restaurants. Otherwise the decor is really good and super representative.

Overall I enjoyed the experience, I recommend it to those who want an advanced culinary immersion!

I came here on saturday for my husbands birthday dinner. We had reservations for 6pm, and arrived at 5:50pm. We both ordered the omakase (90$) at 6:00pm. We waited with no start in sight until 6:43 when the waiter told us he was so sorry for the wait; and it was due to a mix up in their online order system, but our meal would be served in “3minutes” and then the rest of the meals would arrive quickly after that. We waited another 10 minutes with nothing, but now it’s been over an hour since we arrived at the restaurant, and absolutely nothing. We noticed the couple that arrived after us that behind us had already been served. We had reservations for a birthday activity at 7:30 and we now told the restaurant if you don’t think you can deliver the meal to us with enough time for us to eat it before then, we will be leaving. They said they cannot serve the meal in that time, despite earlier saying it would be served in “3 mins”. So we left. Although an online order mishap is understandable, leaving your customers that are dining in stranded, with nothing is mot excusable for a restaurant with this price tag. This was ridiculous, we would have spent over 250$ here, and weren’t served anything in the end. Especially with an omakase, you should be balancing your dining patients with online. Serve us the amuse buche first so that we can get started while you’re dealing with the online order mishap. But this level of inadequacy is inexcusable and laughable to be honest. There are so many better restaurants out there in this price range that will serve you better with amazing food, i don’t know why anyone would dine here.

An excellent gourmet Japanese restaurant not to be missed! The atmosphere, service and quality of the dishes far exceeded our expectations. We particularly appreciated the diversity of the menu as well as the recommendations of the waitress. We fell in love with the Chicken Katsu, which was both crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This was our first visit, and it certainly won't be our last!

Parking: At reception they scan your parking ticket and it's free for 3 hours.
